(Massage Therapy)
GENERAL EXPLANATION:
It is a condition of involuntary urination during sleep in children over the age of three. Dome cases are related to unsafe sense, genetic tendency, or occurrences of cerebral diseases, nutritional anemia, urinary infection, vesical calculus, oxyuriasis, and other diseases. Involuntary urination is caused by the decrease in excitement of the cerebral cortex, resulting in the disappearance and decrease of alertness to the stimulation of the urinary bladder. Sallow complexion, mental attenuation, low spiritedness, and shyness can be seen in prolonged illness. Massage therapy is mainly used to warm the kidney and check enuresis.
NOTES:
1. It is advisable to properly arrange the child’s life and build up a routine to pass urine on time.
2. It is advisable for the child to pass urine before going to bed and for the parents to wake the child up to pass urine after the child has been asleep for 2 to 3 hours.
3. It is advisable to frighten and punish the child in order to avoid mental stress and aggravation aver the condition.
TREATMENT:
1. Tonify the Kidney Meridian by pushing the cushion of the little finger directly toward the finger tip 200 times.
2. Tonify the Spleen Meridian by kneading the cushion of the thumb in a circular motion 200 times.
3. Tonify the Lung Meridian by kneading the cushion of the ring finger in a circular motion 200 times.
4. Push the radial side of the forearm of the sick child from Yangchi(SJ-4) to Quchi(RN-6) directly upwards with the radial side of the thumb 200 times.
5. Knead Wailaogong with the middle finger 100 times.
6. Press and knead Shenque(RN-8), Shenshu(BL-23), Pangguangshu(BL-28), Mingmen(DU-4), and Sanyinjiao(SP-6) 50 to 100 times each.
7. Chafe the eight sacral points on the lumbosacral region upwards until a warm sensation is felt.
8. Forcefully press Qichong(ST-30) with the palm heels of both hands for 1 or 2 minutes each and slowly lift both hands to press and knead Jimen and Xuehai(SP-10) 50 times each.
