Breast Cancer Vitamin D

There are literally thousands of studies that are taking place regarding breast cancer every year, some directed at how to prevent this cancer in the first place while others are focused on the effects of breast cancer as well as the after effects of treatment.

Most people do not think about cancer until they have it or until someone close to the has cancer. From our personal experience, every person should be doing everything possible to reduce the probability of having cancer sometime in the future. It appears that taking vitamin B can have a positive impact in avoiding cancer.

One such study was reported in the Ottawa Sun, Tuesday, January 10, 2006.

Breast-cancer Vitamin D lowers cancer risk

"Cancer researchers are urging people to take more vitamin D to lower the risk of colon, breast and ovarian cancer, saying studies showed a clear link. The research team reviewed 63 studies, including several large long-term ones, on the relationship between vitamin D and certain types of cancer worldwide between 1966 and 2004. The team said the benefit of vitamin D was as clear as the harmful effects between smoking and lung cancer. The study is published in the American Journal of public health."

It appears from this study, that vitamin D can make an impact in lower the risk of contracting breast cancer, colon cancer and ovarian cancer.
