¹ Jissel de Gheyn is the powermongering, duplicitous secret leader of the Followers of the Fire. He does not truly support the racist agenda of these Flaemish radicals, but does pander to their views—earning votes of the Flaemish nobles—as much as he "plays down" his Sylaire heritage—gaining for him some votes of the non-Flaems. His most important asset is a secret network of crystal hypnosis balls to influence several powerful and highly placed wizards to support his ambitions.

² At the start of the year, the mad Innocenti di Malapietra, Viscount of Sirecchia and former Prince of Caurenze, was assassinated by Frau Hildegarde von Drachenfels for the High Mastery of the Secret Craft of Earth Elementalism. His death was kept a secret by Signora Lucrecia di Malapietra, Innocenti's sister and representative at Parliament, until their estranged brother, Signor Agostino di Malapietra exposed the conspiracy and cast his claim for rulership of Sirecchia. In the typical Malapietra fashion, a series of assassinations, murders, impersonations, questionable suicides, unlikely alliances and sudden betrayals followed, leaving both Lucrecia and Agostino dead, and Signor Bartolomeo di Malapietra, son of Innocenti, the new Viscount of Sirecchia. But in little more than a month's time, Bartolomeo abandons Sirecchia to be Count of Glenargyll, following an Awards Festival.

³ Vincienzo di Randazzi, the former Baron of Ylourgne, switched alliances to fellow Thyatian House Haaskinz, in exchange for support in his bid for the Viscounty of Sirecchia, his birthplace and hometown. His primary rival, Baroness Danira Voshane of Egorn, was also allied to House Haaskinz, thus duly yielded.

⁴ Lady Mariana Terlagand, Marchioness of Berrym, has been dead for over forty years, and has been impersonated by a certain Narda Shelyn from the Spokesmens' Guild. In his campaign to expose the false nobles of Glantri, Count Pieter Verlien finally exposed this conspiracy, making the Marquisate of Berrym vacant. At the resulting Awards Festival, Isabella de Montebello becomes the new Marchioness of Berrym, leaving the County of Glenargyll open for Bartolomeo di Malapietra. The highly unpopular, monster-infested, haunted ruins of Sirecchia is awarded to Vincienzo Randazzi. Joining the ranks of nobility as the new Baron of Ylourgne is Jissel de Gheyn, allied to House Linden (at least nominally).
