I have been on the faculty of the Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, Texas, for almost forty years. For sixteen years I served as president. On May 18, 1999, I stepped aside as president and took up again the "scroll and mortar board" of the full-time professor! Previously to that, I was the dean.

My educational background is as follows:

B.A. Degree, The University of Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma

Graduate Studies, Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York

B.D. Degree, Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary, Jacksonville, Texas

M.A. and Ph.D. Degrees, Baylor University, Waco, Texas

Besides teaching at BMA Seminary, I also have taught at Jacksonville College (Texas), The California Graduate School of Theology (California), and Southeastern Baptist College (Mississippi).

I am a member of the Evangelical Theological Society. For some seven years I served on the Jacksonville Literacy Council, with two years as chairman of the board.

In 1996-98 I served as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Council of Southwestern Theological Schools (COSTS).

Previously I have served as assistant pastor or pastor of seven Baptist churches and missions in four states.
