ADAM GOLDBERG
Saving Private Ryan
Nice Paul Stanley impersonation there...
BIRTHDATE: October 25, 1970
BIRTHPLACE: Santa Monica, California
MARITAL STATUS: ????
WHY HE DESERVES HIS BIG BREAK:
Remember the scene in Saving Private Ryan when an American soldier taunts captured German troops by holding up his own Star of David medallion and gleefully announcing "Juden....Juden...." That was Adam Goldberg.  Remember the scene in Dazed and Confused when a high schooler is asked what he wants to do with his life and he blurts out "I wanna dance!"? That was Adam Goldberg too.

Probably one of the least likely movie star faces to ever grace the screen, Adam Goldberg's first major performance was in Richard Linklater's
Dazed and Confused (1993), a raucous celebration of Texas teens in the 1970's that also starred fellow THAT GUY Rory Cochrane, THAT GIRLS Joey Lauren Adams and Parker Posey, supermodel Milla Jovovich, and a couple of guys named Affleck and McConaughey (I always wondered what happened to those two).  Other memorable performances from Goldberg include Christopher Walken's undead "assistant" in The Prophecy, and a jaded single twentysomething in the Swingers lookalike Scotch and Milk (which he also wrote and directed).  However, his most outstanding performance since Dazed and Confused was reserved for Saving Private Ryan.  As Private Mellish, he does manage to survive a little longer than co-stars Vin Diesel and Giovanni Ribisi, but eventually meets his fate as well, not by gun or explosion, but by a carefully hidden knife.

For the most part, however, Goldberg has remained predominantly within the independent film scene, grabbing starring roles in such films as
Some Girl, Sunset Strip, and the upcoming Fast Sofa, a film based on what could possibly be the strangest novel ever written.  We can only wish him good luck as he shares the screen with definite NOT THAT GUY Val Kilmer in the soon to be released The Salton Sea.
