HORNSBY PROBUS CLUB
Welcome to all Visitors to Hornsby Probus
                               Club
The purpose of Probus is to stimulate thought, interest and participation in activities at a time of life when it is easy to become complacent and self-centered.

The meaning of the word "Probus" is an abbreviation of the words
Pro for professional and Bus for business.

A Probus club is not a Service Club, but rather members give generously of their time in voluntary service to provide fellowship between members who are compatible with each other and the opportunity for development of aquaintance.

Hornsby  Probus Club  meets at the Waitara Uniting Church hall (79 Edgeworth David Avenue, cnr. Palmerston Road) on the second Wednesday of each month.  Hornsby Probus Club has now become a Mixed Club. There is also a Hornsby (Ladies) Probus Club.

Involvement of spouses or friends is encouraged and they are  invited to attend Luncheon and Dinner meetings and all Club outings.

Hornsby Probus Club is affiliated with the umbrella organisation Probus Centre - South Pacific Inc. and abides by its constitution - but is otherwise autonomous.  We support
the Mission Statement of Probus Centre - South Pacific Inc.
which states:
"The Probus Centre - South Pacific Inc. - is dedicated to promoting the development of friendship and acquaintance and the advancement of intellectual interests of its membership through Australia, New Zealand, Papua, New Guinea and the South Pacific Islands."
