Hi, I am Andrew from Holland. I was born at 25 December (Christmas!) 1974 in Indonesia at the Island Java in Surabaya. Since I was a little baby, I immigrate with my parents to Holland.So I live in Holland almost 27 year. I joined the Netherlands Army in 1997, that’s still my job now. The Indonesian coat of arms consists of a golden eagle called Garuda which is a figure from ancient Indonesian epics. It is also pictured on many temples from the 6th century.
The eagle is a symbol of creative energy.Its principal color, gold, suggests the greatness of the nation. The black color represents nature. There are 17 feathers on each wing, 8 on the tail and 45 onthe neck. These figures stand for the date of Indonesia`s independence proclamation: 17 August 1945.

There`s a hidden secret behind those wires of confusion. The lies and cries ofpeople. But yoo is who i want to kno.Who areyoo? do yoo care who`s on the other side of that fuzzy screen? Cause i feel this vibe of rejection, i grow weak in mah every emotion. I`m soo confused, don kno wha to say..all yoo do iz go away. Feelin like a lost child, if i can only see tha person on tha other side...

I wonder who yoo are- when and why, when I saw yo azn eyez and black smile. wondering if yoo liked me. i wonder wha yoo think of mee. i wonder if yoo think i`m worthless piece of...yoo kno.. Wonderin if yoo reallie wannted to kno me. but i guess not. o well, i`ll keep wonderin and let it be...




"Anger/hate"

it`s hate tha`s in me.. clumped up all inside me.. yoo messin wid me i take all in never showing it when tymes are thick and thin. it`s not healthy keepin it in like a drug tha`s addictive and screws yo brain. hate is wha i gain. i kno this is scary, but this is how i feel. deep inside me, yes it real.. there is a center of tha hateful force..it is good, but i never show it at all..

About my wife...
Finally, I found the girl and wife of my life! It took me 10 years to find the right one...In august 1999 I met her during my vacation in Jakarta and it was "Love at first sight"!!! I hope we will live happily together. She has emigrated to Holland to be with me and now we have 1 child, a lovely daughter, Aaliyah of 1 year!

This photo was just taken at my work, they are my best collegues. At this time we take our special uniforms for a celibrity in the army. You see, I am not the only foreighner in the army. Everyone who has the Netherlands nationality is welcome in the Dutch Army. From left to right: Korporal Otakan (from Turkey), Sergeant Winter (Netherlands), Korporal Bhagan (from India) and me Korporal Tahir (from Indonesia!) So when people say Holland is a multicultural country, here is your example! Hehehehe.......

I work now almost 6 years in the army. In the beginning I don't like it all. I choose the army, because I thought I could not find a right job. I think I was too lazy to apply for a job, didn't know what I have to choose. So I just try the army. But when the months or years passed by, I really began to like it. The most thing about the army I like, is the friendship between collegues. Most of them are at my age and because of that, we always have fun. When I look at those 5 years, I really had a big cool time. In December this year, I will leave the army. One thing I certainly will miss: My friendship I built up in the army, I had never had such fun with my collegues in the Ducth Army!





Kind a bit scary eh.....I trained a lot in Macedonia, hoping to be like Arnold Schwarzenegger! hehehehe....unfortunately I will never be so big as him, I like the NATURAL way, no anabolics!



My mission: In December 1999 I went to Macedonia and Kosovo at FREE WILL. Damn! What a regret, because in Kosovo they had nothing at all. I think we western people think too lot of luxury. But when I saw Kosovo, what the hell are we complaing about? I was 6 months there but it seems to like 6 years, God what a homesick. You are not happy when you see a country which is destroyed cause of WAR. I hope we will never be in war. But I think with all the violence on this goddamn planet, someday the THIRD WORLD WAR will happen. Why people must always kill other people? I think violence is a part of humanity, as long human kind live on this planet, aslong there will be violence. So an army is always what we need!




This photo was taken after my mission in Macedonia/Kosovo. I was a part of this group during 6 months. At this day we received our medals for joining the KFOR II (Kosovo Force II), so we had a sort of reunion...

Our daughter Aaliyah! She's born in Holland at 5 september 2001 and she's very cute! First when my wife was pregnant, I really expect we would have a boy, and I keep still thinking that till the day she was born! When the nurse said to me it was a girl, I was very surprised. I could not believe it. Because I was so self confidenced, I had no name for a girl, I really believed it was a boy. So I thought about that R&B singer who died and named at after her. I am not dissapointed to have a daughter, I really love it. Many people say they want a girl or a boy, but believe me....when the child is born, you don't matter at all what it is. All that matters that our child is healthy. As you see, our daughter is very photo genic!
