Kansas Solar Electric Co~operatives

K-SEC to establish network of non-profit renewable energy cooperatives to
install 1,000 MWp solar electricity capacity or 10% solar in Kansas by 2016

Phase I Demonstration structured via KANSAS HOUSE BILL 2018
The Renewable Energy Electric Generation Cooperative Act [REEGC]
was written and passed by Kansas Representative Tom Sloan in 2003:
  • Requires five people to incorporate renewable cooperatives
  • w/commitment to establish 100 kWp renewable capacity in two years.
  • 100 kWp solar electricity translates to 10,000 SF
    building-integrated photovoltaics [BI-PV]
on one building or up to thirty homes 350 SF BI-PV each.

K-SEC has goal of twenty-one local non-profit renewable cooperatives with one or more board members from each county of Kansas.

California Energy Crisis NO EXCUSE! NO GAS PIPELINES TO BE PAID FOR BY TAXPAYERS OR RATEPAYERS. Shift deployment money to renewable electricity technology. BEST TO NOT BUY BI-PV from oil cartels, subsidiaries or multinational conglomerates.

AB 970 Provides $81 Million of $125 Million Funding Program for Gas Turbines. Fossil Fuels Provide 64% of California's Electricity and Gas Provides 46%. Fossil fuel cartels do not need any incentives to deploy gas turbines! Fossil fuels MUST PAY pay their own expenses. Government incentives to facilitate renewable technology not oil cartel price fixing.

Renewables technology represent less than 1% of National energy mix and Renewables DG are less than 0.001%. Building-Integrated Photovoltaics is a proven and ideal renewable solution for air conditioning peak demand.

Demand best in BI-PV system design. Simple and clean as electricity comes!

WHOOPS [WPPS], here we go again! In 1996, two of five nuclear plants built in 1980s were demolished without generating one kilowatt hour. In 1985, Eileen M. Smith helped organize public information library and database for suit at N.W. Power Planning Council that plans electricity for Washington, Oregon and California as a library employee. Ratepayers won suit against Bonneville Power for overbuilding capacity. Taxpayers paid damages for unneeded nuclear plants, not corrupt officials pocketing money for projects. Make officials accountable!

Solar electric building materials have been market ready since 1978. In 1984, Georgetown University Intercultural Center in Washington, DC installed 300 kWp Photovoltaic roof. Building-integrated Photovoltaics [BI-PV] is benign renewable energy choice for consumers who want to own aesthetic electricity generation systems grid-connected or stand-alone.

Since 1984, price of BI-PV has dropped to $5 watt. PV cheaper than automobile. BI-PV systems have 20 to 25 year warranties with 30-50 year life cycle. Materials can be recycled. They have no moving parts, no water, and no pollution or noise. Electricity is easily converted to any use from computers to air-conditioning.

50% buydown offered for grid-connected BI-PV systems. We strongly advocate use of BI-PV incentives for Systems independent of the grid as well as grid-connected. Support and invest in small renewable energy business to reduce dependence on fossil fuel cartels and Utilities.

Solar Development Cooperative has never been associated with Real Goods located in Ukiah, California.

Feb 2000, after knowing about SDC for five years, Real Goods began using SDC's business name domain site to fraudulently sell stock to consumers: www.solardevelopment.com

In 1993, a year after Solar Development was founded, Real Goods' accounting firm Deloitte & Touche tried to put SDC out of business. D&Touche is a huge multinational conglomerate known for its abuses against small business and the environment. There is nothing grassroots about Deloitte & Touche. When asked activist if this might why there are so few sources to purchase solar technology. John Schaffer became abusive and threatening instead of assuring his intentions were healthy. We sent his e-mails to Dept of Energy to stop his beratting, abusive activities. Peer Pressure Will Help Discourage This Attempted Identity Theft and Abusive, Anticompetitive Behavior!

We Commend Real Goods' Striving After Excellence As SDC Has International Reputation Committed to Mainstream Deployment of Building-Integrated Photovoltaics; However Using Solar Development Web Domain Name To Mislead Our Contacts and Consumers Is Not Legal or Ethical Way to Achieve Their Goals!

Rosa Parks had similar problem, and we would suggest the solution she achieved. Real Goods MUST immediately cease and desist their use of the SolarDevelopment domain name and transfer ownership to SDC for appropriate use. See story page 16 of Oct 2, 2000 People's Magazine.
