Where are you from?
Originally Nottinghamshire, now living in sunny Hertfordshire

Age? (very optional!!!)
oooooh, never ask a girl her age! I’'m 31 and proud of it!

Earliest memory?
Age 4ish - running away from my Grandfather who was supposed to be babysitting me. I eventually ended up at a bus stop where I told a lady that my mother had gone out and left me home alone,  naughty little girl. The story telling began at an early age J !!

Favourite place?
Mnemba Island off the coast of Zanzibar –and my bed –can I have two??

Favourite music?
At the minute –loving Paulo Nutini, Snow Patrol, old favourites Neil ‘The Legend’ Diamond, Sir Elt and partial to the odd Elvis track.

Any special qualifications/achievements that you're proud of?
Having my two children Charlie and James; interviewing the Prime Minister; managing to finish a day at Rick Stein'’s cookery school
without chopping my fingers off.

First job?
Age 15 (while still studying) working at a Golf Club at weekends, serving food – and eating it. First real job: working as a reporter at the Worksop Guardian! That famous weekly rag distributed somewhere up north.

Best job?
Presenting Town and Country ( Anglia ). For one episode of this half hour magazine show we followed the UN peacekeepers and spent a very memorable week with the allied forces in Croatia and Bosnia ! Happy Days!

Dream job?
Wine taster!

How did you get started in doing what you do?
Long story! But it didn’t involve a casting couch!

How long ago?
I was sweet sixteen.

Where would you have been seen or heard since you
started broadcasting?
Anglia News, ITV News, ITV News Channel, Sky News, Channel 5….

Best on-air moment?
All of it!

Worst on-air moment (embarrassing or otherwise)?
Having to switch on the Milton Keynes Christmas lights on my own with a dumb puppet (Sooty) as the star turn –Frank Bruno - was late, –what’'s worse we did the countdown and the lights didn’t come on! I wanted the ground to open up – I’'ve never lived it down – even Chris Moyles gave me a mention on Radio 1 for promoting myself from Celebritity Division 4 to Frank Bruno’s status (that’ll be division 3 then ha ha!)

Describe a typical working day (if there is such a thing!)
No such thing…

Any ambitions left?
Live long and prosper.

Biggest influence in your life?
Alcohol –only joking! I have many.

Best advice that you've been given and why?
K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stupid! Works every time – tell the story like it is –don'’t try and flower it up with fancy words.

Any hobbies or special interests?

Being a mum. Making silver jewellery. Cooking.

Any advice for those who want to get started in broadcasting?
Be yourself!
