Operational in mid-2006, the New Bangkok International Airport (NBIA) or, Suvarnabhumi International is
accessible through 5 entry/exit expressway routes ensuring:

NBIA Airport Train (2007): SRT - Suvarnabhumi Rapid Train System
More organized and efficient handling of flights with 2 separate airports supporting 2 different
functions: Donmuang International Airport (the current airport) is down graded to a domestic
airport with NBIA servicing only international flights
Increased Handling of Flights and Passengers:
-Current Capacity of Donmuang International Airport: 60 flights per hour with 2 simultaneous
 
runways, handling 25 million passengers per year

Running at partial capacity in June 2006: In its initial stage, NBIA will be able to receive
 
76 flights per hour with 2 simultaneous runways, increasing passenger arrivals to 45 million   
  passengers per year

NBIA Fully Operational in mid-2008: At its final stage of completion (2008), NBIA operates 4  
  simultaneous runways, receiving a total of 100 million passenger per year
