In Memory of Princess (97-98)

This site is linked to the Hamster Tunnel, a site devoted to promoting and encouraging the humane and ethical way of raising and caring for healthy and happy captive hamsters

This page is dedicated to Princess, who died an untimely death at the age of only 1.5 years old.

I will never forget the first time I saw Princess. We had just lost our baby hamster, "Sleepy," a few days before, and I was really depressed. I went out into the living room to stare at the empty cage, b/c I was feeling so sad that there was no hamster inside. But when I looked, the cage wasn't empty, instead there was this little white fuzzy thing inside! I couldn't beleive it, but my husband had went out and got Princess while I was still asleep! She was so darling, I just wouldn't know where to begin! Her little nose twitched all over the place as she tried to learn my scent. She bonded with both of us in no time at all, and before long, she would climb into her tower almost every time we entered the room in the evenings and put her hands up as if to say "I want to come out and play." Who would have thought we would not have her for the full alloted time?
