Professor Toff's Fanfiction School

Forgive the poor HTML. I have to admit I know very, very little when it comes to making websites! Forgive the Geocities, the lack of fancy graphics, and the plain text and background. I didn't make this to please your eye; rather, I made this because I am sick and tired of leaving the same review on several different stories. I don't know if it's the new tour of Les Miz or the boredom of August that's causing the rise in "badfic," but I do know one thing:

THE MADNESS HAS TO STOP!

Here you will find the top ten "rules" of fanfiction, as well as sections on the things I keep seeing in badfic! If you keep getting flamed, please look around. I'm doing this for you guys! I too have written badfic, I have written Mary-Sues, but I have learned since then, and if I can learn, anyone can learn. Including a chimpanzee.

The truth is, I really want to help those who write badfic, because I understand how hard it is to write for this fandom. Les Miserables reviewers are extremely tough reviewers, maybe even the toughest on fanfiction.net. Those who know Les Miz well enough to write consistently good Les Miz fiction are generally very smart (and female, but that's besides the point), and rarely tolerate poor mechanics, grammar, plot, or characterization.

I'll shut up now, but before I do: the advice you are about to recieve is not just the ramblings of a half-crazed high school freshman. It's advice that is given out by the best of the best in Les Miz fanfiction, and advice I have recieved. It will make you into a better writer. Possibly (probably) better than myself!!

Thanks, and goodbye!

The Ten Major Fanfiction Rules- This is a list of some of the rules I think are most important for a budding Les Miz fanfiction author to follow, without many words to spare.

Setting: 1832- I see SO many anachronisms in badfic, and this is a attempt to correct at least some of them.

Common Terms in Fanfiction- More for the beginner than the badfic author. Learn these terms before you learn what they mean the hard way: through misuse!
