| Religion - We will be reading and learning about Jesus Death & Burial and The Resurrection this week. Reading - We will continue the "Treasure Island" contest. Please help the children to remember to turn in their treasure slips for all of the books they are reading. They should be turning in one or two each week! Spelling - Our spelling words this week are in chapter 23. English - We will be learning about "Letter Writing" this week in English. Math - In math, we will learning about larger number addition and subtraction. ** The students know their multiplication tables 0 thru 12.** Writing - We will be writing cursive letters this week. Please continue to encourage your child to always do their best. Social Studies - We will continue working on Chapter 8, Beyond the Appalachians, this week in social studies. Great Job On Your Map Projects!!! Science - We will be learning about "Needle Boat" and "Great Deceivers" this week in science. |

Our class will be using the Accelerated Reading Program. This program is designed to encourage the students to read books. The program tracks the books the students have read and measures their comprehension of the books. This is done by the students taking quizzes on the computer. The more a child reads, the higher his/her test scores will be. Between now and the end of the trimester, I would like for the children to read and test on at least one book per week. If they are able to test on more books per week, these will be used for extra credit. |
