The Gilpin Trail (Formerly ITS #10) Closed at beaver dam crossing due to flooding.
      Beginning at the Orland
C.N.Brown Big Apple Store,  Rt.1 heading west  towards the Gilpin Road, Crossing Gilpin and then heading towards the Great Heath along ITS#10 to Togas (Wallamatogas) Mountain.  From Togas riders can continue down the left side  drop or follow the  access road down the face towards the Penobscot Transfer Station,  crossing the Pierce's pond road,   continue by  Mike Astbury's house & barn,   heading towards the Penobscot Historical Society,  Crossing Rt.199  at Millard Wardwell's,  and then on to Northern Bay Market for gas, food or drinks.  Additional local trails continue to Wights pond,  and  Blue Hill / Sedgwick  areas or continue to loop  back to  North Penobscot and Toddy Pond via Wight's pond when enough ice is present.

These trails are not recommended for the bigger sleds.  Trails  are rocky, tight areas which are not well maintained.  Sled damage or scratches may result due to trail conditions. This is true back woods trail riding.
