Each year Penn Yan First Baptist holds a five day Vacation Bible School for ages four to adult. This is normally held the first week of Summer break. It is open to all, and is divided into pre-school and school age groups. Watch for information on the 2009 VBS!

The Youth Sunday School Class has adopted a Burmese refugee baby for its Spring Purposeful Life project. The parents arrived at the Utica, N.Y. Baptist Refugee Mission from a refugee camp in Thailand. The Youth Group helped the family by collecting necessary items for the new baby. Those heading the project were Megan Fuqua, Brittany Griffin, Lily Sheele and Erin Ahern and they are excited about this hands on, near to home mission.

Items taken to the new parents and baby included receiving blankets, sleepers, bottles, stuffed animals, toiletries, towels, bibs, a child's rocker, clothing and other necessary items for a baby.

UPDATE - FBC continues to support the Utica church's mission as more refugees come from Thailand and Burma. Truckloads of clothing, utensils, furniture and bicycles have been donated and taken to the appreciative newcomers. The last shipment included winter clothing, coats and hats.
