"Observations
of Life, Love
and Liberty"
David Skipper as
Robert Burns

I no longer perform in
character as Burns, but
have a series of programs
and lectures I still offer
on Robert Burns

"Observations of Life, Love and Liberty"
is a one-man show about the life and times of the 18th century Scottish poet Robert Burns. David Skipper has toured the United States with his successful show for more than twelve years at Scottish games, festivals, dinners and school programs where audience response has resulted in standing ovations. Skipper has pulled bits and pieces from the poet's life and woven a performance which reflects many aspects of the bard's life: growing up on a Scottish farm, early literary influences, first loves, attending his first country dancing class, his observations of 18th century Edinburgh society and more importantly,
his passionate philosophy on liberty and freedom. Skipper performs Burns with the
genuine desire to promote Scottish heritage while sharing with others the true spirit of the poet, especially his philosophy for the
brotherhood of all. His wife
Libby also participates in
the program lending her
beautiful voice to singing
many of Burns' favorite tunes
.
