In our classroom, we went on an interactive adventure, called Rainforest Researchers. We formed into four different teams of researchers, each of us with a different role. There were Chemists, Ethnobotanists, Ecologists, and Taxonomists.
From the Rainforest Researchers Website--
"Teams of student scientists
With Rainforest Researchers,...students become teams of scientists faced with two challenging assignments about rainforest plants. As they probe the Indonesian rainforest for clues, students explore the diverse and mysterious web of life in this rich ecosystem. To complete each case, students must address specific scientific questions as well as larger issues that threaten this amazing biome."
It was a blast! We learned many new things about the rainforest, and discovered what a precious resource it is.
