Wanna have a great time with your dog? Try agility! It's one of the fastest growing dogsports in the world! Why? It's great fun for both dog and owner. It gives you a great opportunity to work together with your dog like no other dogsports do.

What is agility? It's a sport where you and your dog race through a maze of obstacles, trying to reach the finishline before your fellow agility dogs. Training with your dog is a great bonding experience, because with agility you both run the course (but you don't both clear the obstacles, thankfully!) Some breeds do better in competition than other breeds with border collies, German Shepherds and flat coated retrievers winning more often than others.

Don't let that discourge you though! Any dog can have fun at agility! Just because you have a Chihuahua/ Pomeranian mix doesn't mean that you and your dog can't have a terrific time on the agility field! Spending a day bonding with your dog is one of the best activities you can do on one of the rain-free days here in Portland.  And who knows, perhaps you and your Labrador-mix dog can show up one of those German shepherds! The main thing is just to have fun. So get out there! Get some exercise and build some great memories with your cherished family pet.
