Club Development - Past, Present and Future

Over the past number of years the club has strived to provide proper playing facilities for our members.  Not long ago we brought teams out to the "Point field" where supporters often lost sight of players who found themselfs at the bottom end of the field! During that time the club was constantly working behind the scenes to fullfill an ambition that Pettigo would have a pitch equal to any other.

That dream was realized on the 27th of July 2001 when Pettigo played their first game on the School field, beating N Columba in the process.

Due to a long delay between the Department of Education and Parish solicitors to provide us with proper Deeds we were unable to obtain available National Lotto Grants. Not to be deterred we proceeded with a new Phase One where we built a Portal Frame structure consisting of two changing rooms with showers and toilets, along with public toilets and a kitchen.

We now plan to complete Phase One with a tidy up of exterior ground work, proper utilization of the Kitchen area, installation of a Ref's room, training lights, dugouts and redo the pitch drainage.

This work will leave a functional club where the basic amenities are available to all members. In the near future an ambitiousPhase Two will provide modern facilities which will provide more comfort to the club's members, past, present and future, when participating or attending future club events.
