INTRODUCTION TO STRUCTURES

WHO SAYS math and science has to be taught using just paper, pencil, and text? real life applications for math and science concepts? Who says students can’t have fun calculating fractions, figuring angles, identifying stresses, and learning?

This course allows students to apply and integrate skills acquired in math and science classes.  By designing, analyzing, and constructing model structures, students learn to apply abstract concepts such as; stress, strain, force, gravity, and stability to solving a technological problem.









Introduction to Structures is an activity based, seventh grade unit meeting each day for one-half term (approximately twenty-two periods).
