Here are a few items we "bought" with Pottawatomie County 4-H Horsebucks
at the 2000 AQHA World Show.

Each team started with a balance of  $150,000 in their "checkbook".  Sound like a lot of money???
...NOT if you have our taste in horses, trailers, trucks and tack!

Each team's mission was to purchase a truck, trailer, tack and clothing that would go with a horse in the finals of Junior Reining.  THEN they had to go evaluate the horses, negotiate a purchase price and BUY the one they thought would place highest that they could still afford.  The 4-H members had to politely explain what they were doing, work the best deal they could and write a "check" to the vendor for the purchase while keeping their checkbooks balanced.  The team whose horse placed highest was the winner.  There is nothing like "pride of ownership" to get the competative juices flowing.

Many, many thanks to the vendors, trainers and horse owners who helped us with this program.
