The following is is a copy of the "pyramid chart" from his book Divine Plan of the Ages. This chart was used by Russell and his followers to promote his strange mix of of biblical theology and occultic pyramidology:
Russell and Pyramids-- Russell introduced occultism into his religion by teaching that the pyramids in Egypt are divine omens. He taught that they contained prophetic secrets known only to him. So convinced was Russell of their mystic power, and his exclusive knowlege of their secrets, he and his followers spent a small fortune trekking to Egypt to observe them. (see photo below-Russell second from left) According to Russell, only by reading his books could one understand the pyramid mysteries and how they fit into the "Divine Plan."
One of the strangest "revelations" from the pyramids was his calculated date of 1914. The date was based on his measurements of the interior passageways of the pyramids. He said that 1914 would be the end of the world and God had revealed it to him exclusively. However,
when his 1914 date for the end of the world failed, he tried to cover his tracks. The calulations were first printed in
1897 where he stated: "...this measurement is 3416 inches, symbolizing 3416 years.... This calculation shows
A.D. 1874 as marking the beginning of the period of trouble...." (Thy Kingdom Come, Series III, p. 342, 1897 edition) Then in the 1916 edition it was changed to read: "We find it to be 3457 inches, symbolizing 3457 years....This calculation shows
that the close of 1914 will be the beginning of the time of trouble...." Russell's pyramid actually grew 41 inches in 19 years!

Russell's sucessor Joseph Rutherford built the first factory building in 1927 and decorated its roof with pyramids which can still be seen today! (117 Adams Street)

Before Russell's death he personally chose a fitting memorial stone for his grave: a giant pyramid weighing several tons!

"Girl Kissed Pastor (Russell) and Sat on His Knee" Russell and the Occult-- Russell recommended his followers read the book, Angels and Women.He personally supervised its editing and said it was beneficial because it throws light on certain Biblical subjects. The problem with Angels and Women is it was dictated by a "fallen angel" (demon) to a woman spirit medium. Can you imagine a Christian pastor having anything to do with such a book? This is solid evidence of his occultic roots. (for the sceptics: photo copies below) Apparently the second Watchtower president Joseph Rutherford concurred with Russell's advise, because he advertised it in his magazine, Golden Age recommending it and offering a discount to Golden Age readers. A letter was published in the Golden Age by a reader recommeding it as a good Christmas or birthday gift! Some followers wrote the Watchtower and asked why they were promoting a book which was obviously demonic. Not only did they defend it but made it available in bulk discounts for gifts!
