One of the most visited climbing areas in Greece, Trikala offers the itinerant cragger just about everything.
Perhaps best known for Meteora, Trikala also has fine sport (limestone) leads from 5 to 8c.

There are several areas located aroound the city, (
Theopetra, Petroporo, Pili, Elati and Mouzaki), in different direstions.
The best time of year to visit is fall throught spring and early mornings and evenings during the summer months for most of the sectors.

Camping is available only in Kastraki - Kalambaka (for Meteora and Theopetra). For the rest of the cliffs it's still free.
A guide is available only  for Meteora (more than 550 routes).

All together in the whole area of Trikala, there are about 800 routes and 250 of them are on limestone rocks.
The huge holy rocks of Meteora are not limestone but conglomerate.
