Paint Rock Texas!
Paint Rock Texas, the county  of Concho County, is the in the north central part of the county at the junction of Ranch Road 380 and U.S. Hightway 83, about twenty-one miles northeast of Eden. The town was named for the extensive Indian pictographs about a miles away on the bluffs of the Concho River (see INDIAN ROCK ART).  In 1884, Paint Rock became a center for wool, hides, pecans and mutton. A Post office was acquired in 1879, that same year a subscription school opened.   More...

Note from Editor: I recently got an email that I would like to share with the former residents of Paint Rock:

Hello! I went to School in Paint Rock starting in 1942, during World War II. I attended there until 4th grade. Some of the teachers I remeber at the time were Mrs. Cox, Mrs West and Milton Peep. I would love to hear from some old classmates. Please email me at Sivle777@wmconnect.com. Thank you!

Note From the Editor: I wanted to create a non-profit page for the town of Paint Rock because they seem to have no webpage presence. All of the businesses listed on this page only appear because they are in the town of Paint Rock, not because they paid for the spot. If you find a business I have left out, please let me know so I can add it. I am also hoping you will send me some suggestion so that I can make it better.

Thanks!    Amanda
