Owase Municipal Astronomical Observatory

Owase Municipal Astronomical Observatory was founded on October 25, 1990, by the City of Owase, Mie Prefecture, Japan, as a project to revitalize the city. The idea of establishing a city-owned astronomical observatory was proposed by Owase residents with the funding from the Central Government of Japan.

The observatory is open to the general public and built upon the principle of "easy access by every resident of Owase."
