Hi, we just wanted to share our experiences with building a new home and we have been in 9 homes in 22 years. Not all of them were new and some were spec homes. A spec home is one that is built without a buyer and most of the time sold as it is going up. If you find one in time, you still can have some say so in the part that is left to build.

We have bought 2 spec homes, ( spec home is a new home on the market that builders are selling ) Then had two builders build 3 new homes and bought 4 existing homes… yes we have been busy. We have had a chance to see how much quality goes into a home being built as we have used 3 different builders for the 4 homes that were new or spec new homes. Two of the builders did a good job but one of the builders did an exceptional job, the one we had build our last two homes, Robert Lucke Homes. Our first home from Lucke was a Washington IV 2735 sq ft ranch located in Mason, Ohio in a subdivision with an average size lot. We lived in it almost 2 years and never had a problem. At our first year end review when a builder comes back to repair anything that may be wrong on a list you send in was like no other, we did not have a list. We had a few nail pops and that was it. That told us we had a very well built home, and after 9 of them, we should know. Unlike the other builders, we did not have to keep calling to get the nail pops fixed.   Lucke was right there and not only fixed the nail pops but did a home inspection of their own to actually look for other things that might need to be fixed. If you have ever bought a new home, you know this is unheard of.  In fact, most builders will do almost anything to get out of repairing something year-end or not. That set this builder apart from any other we had dealt with along with the exceptional care in building our home. Well, as I said, we were ready to move not because we did not like our home, in fact we built almost the exact same home.  This time we built it on our lot, a 1.9 acre lot in the country… yes Lucke homes will build not only in a subdivision but also on your lot. It just keeps getting better. Oh, and our first home built by Lucke sold in less than 30 days for more than our asking price. So we are in our new Lucke home with land and the same quality that went into our first Lucke home has gone into our second. It feels nice to go to sleep at night knowing the most expensive thing you will ever buy is built with quality and a builder who stands behind his work.

We are in our last home that we intend to build and love it. From here in about 7 years we intend to retire to Florida. But then again we never thought we would have 9 homes in 22 years, so who knows!!
