Welcome to the home page of one of television's premier dancers, Kathy Gale. Kathy Gale performed each week with "The Tom Hansen Dancers" on "The Red Skelton Hour" for approximately five seasons through December 1968. In the latter part of the 1960's virtually any show which presented musical performances supported those performances with dancers. Dancers performed on the network music shows, "Hullabaloo" and "Shindig", on syndicated shows such as "Upbeat", "Shivaree" and "Hollywood A Go Go" and, of course, almost all of the network variety shows featured dance companies. Only a few of those dancers achieved name recognition. Among the exceptions, Lada Edmund Jr. of "Hullabaloo" and Debbie Macomber of "The Jerry Lewis Show" were each featured in TV Guide articles. My favorite dancer of the era, Kathy Gale of "The Tom Hansen Dancers", was also on that very short list of dancers who broke through the shell of anonymity. As a dancer on "The Red Skelton Hour", Kathy Gale performed each week on one of TV's most watched programs. During the weeks leading up to her November 7, 1967 solo performance on the Skelton show, at least three different photos of Kathy Gale were released to promote her performance. One photo ran in the TV section of the Sunday, November 5, 1967 edition of "The New York Times". Numerous other papers across the nation also published photos from her performance. It's a story straight out of show business legend. Kathy Gale was a beautiful, talented and charismatic performer whose performances could evoke everything from a wow! to a chuckle.
