Music I Impact is Imminent

I - Between Two Worlds [CD/2006] 6/10=It's Immortal lite, featuring Abbath of Immortal and Armagedda (earlier Immortal drummer). Sounds like Immortal mixed with 80s Thor, decent atmosphere but not all that highly impressive.

ICE AGES - Strike the Ground [DVD138/1997] 8/10=If you enjoy Summoning, you will likely enjoy this more industrial/darkwave take on the style, courtesy of Protector himself.
ICE AGES - This Killing Emptiness [DVD138/2000] 8/10=Quality delivered once more, a creepy voyage to the noir side.
ICE AGES - Buried Silence [CD/2008] 8/10=Third album by Summoning's Protector, doing darkwave/ambient/industrial. It's quite intriguing and well worth the listen, like most anything he does.

IHSAHN - The Adversary [CD/2006] 7/10=The first solo album from former Emperor main-man Ihsahn is the natural bridge between the final Emperor album and the more symphonic, gothic-laden style he used in Peccatum. Pretty good.
ISHAHN - AngL [CD/2008] 9/10=A fantastic sophomore solo effort from the Emperor frontman, this is the best material he has put out since Emperor's better days. Trust me, listen more than once, it's amazing.

IMMORTAL - The Northern Upins Death [DVD26/1990] 4/5=Similar to Darkthrone, Immortal made a transition from death to black metal. This first demo was more of a death metal style, but very good.
IMMORTAL - Suffocate [CD/1991] 3/5=It's alright as far as a raw, brutal demo for a black metal band.
IMMORTAL - Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism [CD/1992] 6/10=Unrelenting, raw brutal black, one of those JL America releases...it doesn't hold up for me to time, but it was pretty exciting back then.
IMMORTAL - Pure Holocaust [CD/1993] 8/10=At first I didn't really like this...but when I'm wrong, I can be very wrong. This is a great, if sometimes sloppy, primal black metal album.
IMMORTAL - Battles in the North [CD/1995] 7/10=This may have been the true dawn of Immortal's exclusive 'winter' metal, and a fine album if not as exciting as its predecessor.
IMMORTAL - Blizzard Beasts [CD/1997] 7/10=Solid and crazier than the last one, sheer wintry black metal.
IMMORTAL - At the Heart of Winter [CD/1999] 8/10=This was a great album and it's where I started noticing just how improved these guys were getting as musicians.
IMMORTAL - Damned in Black [CD/2000] 8/10=They seemed to drop the winter black metal theme for most of this record, but it's still a crusher.
IMMORTAL - Sons of Northern Darkness [CD/2002] 9/10=It's cleaner...it's got some slower rhythms, and at times, it's even groovy...but it's still my favorite Immortal album and not at all a 'sell out' like some elite claim.
IMMORTAL - Destroying Divina [CD/2003] 2/10=A live Immortal album, almost posthumously as they would break up.

IMPALED - The Dead Shall Dead Remain [CD/2000] 7/10=Like fellow Californians Exhumed, Impaled attempt to channel the spirits of early to mid-period Carcass, and they do this with some measure of entirley derived success.
IMPALED - Choice Cuts [CD/2001]
IMPALED - Mondo Medicale [CD/2002] 7/10=Sounding better on this album than on previous works, some infectious riffs stand out amidst the usual Carcass worship. But, if like me, that appeals to you, this is worthwhile.
IMPALED - Medical Waste [CD/2003] 5/10=Some sort of collection here with a few covers, a new track or two, and some other previously released material, overall the quality is high but there is not enough for the price.
IMPALED/HAEMORRHAGE - Dementia Rex [CD/2003] 5/10=I am not a fan of Haemorrhage, but this is worth having for the Impaled tracks.
IMPALED - Death After Life [CD/2005] 6/10=The schlocky skits in between the tunes are pretty funny, otherwise this is more mid-era Carcass worship, although crafted lovingly and with some brilliant riffs at times.
IMPALED - The Last Gasp [CD/2007] 8/10=A very good time, and their best album since Mondo Medicale. You can hear their side-band 'Ghoul' influence creeping over into their main band now, and it works very well.

IMPALED NAZARENE - Taog Eht Fo Htao Eht [DVD6/1991] 6/10=Pretty excellent first demo from the Finnish wildmen, the vocals are notably more death metal than their more recent works.
IMPALED NAZARENE - Shemhamforash [DVD6/1991] 6/10=Another mini-album length demo , the production here is more punky than on the first demo. More good stuff from a band that would become legend.
IMPALED NAZARENE - Goat Perversion [DVD6/1992] 2/10=This EP isn't really worth it, all the songs can be found elsewhere sounding a lot better.
IMPALED NAZARENE - Tol Cormpt Norz Norz Norz [CD/1992] 8/10=Spiteful, goat-injected blackpunk chaos, this is clearly one of my favorite bands so you will notice somewhat of a bias with my reviews, fucking excellent.
IMPALED NAZARENE - Sadogoat [DVD6/1993] 3/10=Two songs, over in a flash on thsi single. The title track and "Ghost Riders".
IMPALED NAZARENE - Satanic Masowhore [DVD6/1993] 3/10=Another brutal single, with the title track and a remix of "Conned Thru Life".
IMPALED NAZARENE - Ugra-Karma [CD/1993] 9/10=I met Miika in 2000 at a NJ metalfest, he nearly puked on me, he was drunk as shit, he is one of my personal idols, and this is paint peeling black punk metal at its finest.
IMPALED NAZARENE - Suomi Finland Perkele [CD/1994] 9/10=They are Finnish. They are vile. They are sloppy. And they do not give a fuck. Some of their most focused work is found here, but it still crushes in a weak year for metal.
IMPALED NAZARENE - Latex Cult [CD/1996] 10/10=Hail Fucking Satan! No other band can so successfully craft black/punk/Satanic/fetish/goat metal like this one, if you don't like this you are an asshole, or at least you smell like one!
IMPALED NAZARENE - Motorpenis [CD/1996] 6/10=It's only an EP, and thus the lower score, but has 4 new tracks, how many other bands can cause me to thrash about and breathe fire and break my neck just at their very notion!
IMPALED NAZARENE - Rapture [CD/1998] 9/10=What the fuck...why can this band not do anything wrong? Another flesh-reaping tornado out of Finlandia.
IMPALED NAZARENE - Nihil [CD/1999] 10/10=Perhaps not the soundtrack to my exterior, social life...but certainly the soundtrack to the inner turmoil raging within my being at any given moment. Fuck yes.
IMPALED NAZARENE/DRILLER KILLER - Split [DVD6/2000] 5/10=Pretty cool split, one track from each band and then an additional track covering the other band.
IMPALED NAZARENE - Decade of Decadence [CD/2000] 5/10=You couldn't do much better for a fan package, it's got their EPs, demos and some rarities and unreleased tracks, unfortunately I had most of it so not a high score.
IMPALED NAZARENE - Absence of War Does Not Mean Peace [CD/2001] 8/10=This is their thrashiest record to date, with a lot more structure than previous work, and for that reason it's actually not a favorite, but still damn good.
IMPALED NAZARENE - All That You Fear [CD/2003] 9/10=Another damned amazing record, slightly better produced and more melodic than their other work, but still driving and killer in just about every possible way.
IMPALED NAZARENE - Pro Patria Finlandia [CD/2006] 8/10=Has that tighter feel like the past few records, not as wild as their roots, I'm enjoying this a great deal but it's probably my least favorite overall.
IMPALED NAZARENE - Manifest [CD/2007] 9/10=It's another killer from Impaled Nazarene, this is a more riff-focused and highly produced affair but what it might lack in sheer oldschool I.N. savagery it makes up in killer songs.

IMPERATIVE REACTION - Eulogy for the Sick Child [CD/1999] 7/10=Not bad at all, already with this debut they are on par with their European industrial/EBM counterparts, driving electronic escapes that I enjoy.
IMPERATIVE REACTION - Ruined [CD/2002] 8/10=A better and more distinct album than the first, I must have spun the track 'Diminish Me' several thousand times at least, there are some filler tunes but this is excellent.
IMPERATIVE REACTION - Redemption [CD/2004] 8/10=Solid and consistent, some of the lyrics as always are a bit weak but that doesn't halt their delivery, excellent driving electronic/industrial bliss.
IMPERATIVE REACTION - As We Fall [CD/2006] 8/10=At first the samples set me up for a disappointment, but then I listened through the whole record and yeah, it's just about as good as Redemption.

IMPERIUM DEKADENZ - Und Die Welt Ward Kalt Und Leer [CD/2006] 9/10=An incredible new German black metal band, soaring melodies, grim landscapes of eld, wonderful band.
IMPERIUM DEKADENZ - Daemmerung der Szenarien [CD/2007] 9/10=Amazing sophomore effort of glorious, melodic but raw black metal from Germany, this is a pretty great band worth hearing!

IMPIETY - Salve the Goat...Iblis Exelsi [DVD88/1993] 4/5=Their first 'official' release, a 7" EP with two great tracks, after their initial pair of demos.
IMPIETY - Asateerul Awaleen [CD/1996] 8/10=This Singaporean black/death metal band was always quite evil from the get, this is their first full-length and if you can track it down is worth every penny. Sickening and vile.
IMPIETY - Skullfucking Armageddon [DVD88/1999] 8/10=Hideous and barbaric black metal from Singapore that simply does not give a fuck. And I, for one, am glad for it.
IMPIETY - Kaos Kommand 696 [DVD97/2002] 8/10=So goddamned, completely brutal that my fucking ears are still bleeding five years later. Sick.
IMPIETY - Paramount Evil [CD/2004] 8/10=A somewhat more technical attack, this is vile, unique Singaporean black metal with a tech-death overtone, liked this just as much as I liked their earlier albums.
IMPIETY - Funeralight [DVD109/2006] 4/5=Great EP, and you know it's great when it has songs called "Sodomythical Frostgoats" and "Sorcerique Baphostorms". Hail the fucking devil.
IMPIETY - Formindonis Nex Cultus [DVD74/2007] 7/10=While it may not compare with Paramount Evil, it's still a formidable burst of southeast Asian villainy!
IMPIETY - Dominator [DVD134/2008] 4/5=Sweet new EP from Singapore's most evil.

IN FLAMES - Lunar Strain/Subterranean [CD/1994-95] 6/10=These are classics and of course shape the In Flames sound, but overall I find a lot of this stuff forgettable over time.
IN FLAMES - The Jester Race [CD/1996] 10/10=The best In Flames album...every song is quite amazing and memorable, this was perfect melodic death metal inspired by Maiden and Helloween.
IN FLAMES - Black Ash Inheritance [CD/1997] 3/10=An EP with a good non-album track in 'Goliaths Disarm Their Davids', an acoustic tune and a live tune.
IN FLAMES - Whoracle [CD/1997] 8/10=It's almost as good as the last one, but the problem is it's just more of the same. Still, a lot of mighty tracks.
IN FLAMES - Colony [CD/1999] 7/10=Okay...they did a much thicker production here, this was a lot heavier thank the last few albums and the music was simpler. 'Embody the Invisible' and 'Colony' are kickass songs.
IN FLAMES - Clayman [CD/2000] 7/10=Took awhile to grow on me, this one polarized much of the original fanbase...it's a diverse record...but it does have one of my favorite In Flames songs in the form of 'Swim'.
IN FLAMES - The Tokyo Showdown [CD/2001] 2/10=I'm sure it's great for the purists but I was so burned out on In Flames at this time, really didn't need a live album, but it sells well at the mall I'm sure.
IN FLAMES - Reroute to Remain [DVD50/2002] 5/10=This is where they really took a swandive, the album is interesting at first but ends up just a collection of bouncy, catchy 'hooks' and it's pretty much a big mess.
IN FLAMES - Trigger [CD/2003]
IN FLAMES - Soundtrack to Your Escape [DVD50/2004] 3/10=Don't ask, don't tell.
IN FLAMES - Come Clarity [CD/2006] 4/10=Every now and then, a half-decent tune will rear its head, but for the most part this is the same garbage you had with Soundtrack to Your Escape.
IN FLAMES - The Mirror's Truth [DVD113/2008] 3/5=It's a decent EP if only because three of the tracks are non-album, only one is from the new record "A Sense of Purpose".
IN FLAMES - A Sense of Purpose [CD/2008] 7/10=There is nothing here nearly as inspiring as their older albums, but this is their best record since Clayman, and they do rock out some riffs here, surely.

IN SLAUGHTER NATIVES - In Slaughter Natives [CD/1989] 8/10=Certainly one of the pioneering voices in dark ambience, In Slaughter Natives have alwasy been masters at this craft. Original cassette release burned to CD.
IN SLAUGHTER NATIVES - Enter Now the World [CD/1992] 9/10=What more to say? One of the prototype dark ambient/industrial/evil bands out there, and one of the best there has been.
IN SLAUGHTER NATIVES - Sacrosancts Bleed [CD/1992] 8/10=Yet another dark endeavor for this unique band, unafraid to meld any influences into their material. Distant production here, might just be my rip though.
IN SLAUGHTER NATIVES/DEUTSCH NEPAL - Mort Aux Vaches [DVD59/1994] 9/10=Simply one of the best matched, best sounding split albums I've ever heard.
IN SLAUGHTER NATIVES - Purgate My Stain [CD/1995] 7/10=By this point, you know what you're in for with an In Slaughter Natives record. They mix it up nicely here with some very tranquil sequences.
IN SLAUGHTER NATIVES - Recollection [CD/2001] 6/10=It does have some earlier material on it, this is In Slaughter Natives though and just about everything they do is worth checking out.
IN SLAUGHTER NATIVES - Re-Enter Salvation [CDx5/2002] 7/10=Very nice collection, four albums and a bonus disc with unreleased material that is quite good.
IN SLAUGHTER NATIVES - Resurrection [CD/2004] 9/10=More great stuff by this bizarre Finnish band, still in the same style as their early work with higher production values, consistent with our times.

IN THE WOODS - Heart of the Ages [CD/1997]
IN THE WOODS - Omnio [CD/1997] 7/10=This band always walked the path of avant-garde gothic/doom metal, and this is a nice album and my favorite of their work.
IN THE WOODS - ...Strange in Stereo [CD/1999] 6/10=Another bizarre record by In the Woods, perhaps their most bizarrre...and unfortunately it doesn't always play to its strengths, still an intriguing listen though.
IN THE WOODS - Live at the Caledonien Hall [CDx2/2003] 5/10=This was a unique, avant-garde metal band, probably lost way before their time, and this is a double live album of reasonable quality.

INDESTROY - Indestroy [CD/1987] 8/10=I have so many memories of listening to this...dirty sludgy thrash metal from the US, but it loses points for not holding up well over the years. Recommended for geezers like myself.
INDESTROY - Senseless Theories [CD/1988]

INSISION - The Dead Live On [CD/1999] 5/10=Solid, early death metal EP from the Swedes, has a decent atmosphere.
INSISION - Revelation of the SadoGod [CD/2001] 6/10=Really cool EP from this Swedish death band, to be honest I like the material here every bit as much as their full lengths.
INSISION - Beneath the Folds of Flesh [CD/2002] 6/10=Swedish death metal, a good, solid listen for the genre but despite their musicianship and aggression they do very little that we haven't already heard.
INSISION - Revealed and Worshipped [CD/2004] 6/10=It's fairly good death metal, speedy and often getting a bit thrashy, but nowhere near as acclaimed as all the reviews I read would tell me.
INSISION - Ikon [CD/2007] 9/10=Crazy awesome energetic death metal here, blows away everything they have done prior, a killer fucking album.

INSOMNIUM - In the Halls of Awaiting [CD/2002] 10/10=The resemblance to Amok-era Sentenced is uncanny, but that's a good thing, and this album is just so MUCH of a good thing that I have no choice but to score it perfection.
INSOMNIUM - Since the Day It All Came Down [CD/2004] 8/10=Following up a debut like that is not easy, and Insomnium fall a little, but this is still a splendid album worth acquiring, more of a Dark Tranquillity influence here.
INSOMNIUM - Above the Weeping World [CD/2006] 7/10=Gotta say I'm mildly disappointed, there's a much more prevalent Dark Tranquillity/In Flames influence on the album, still the Taneli/old Sentenced vocal style..

INTESTINE BAALISM - The Energumenus [DVD37/1995] 4/5=Great sounding demo from a great Japanese band.
INTESTINE BAALISM - Anatomy of the Beast [CD/1997] 7/10=An unholy blend of death metal, melodic death, and brutal thrash from the land of the rising sun.
INTESTINE BAALISM - Banquet in the Darkness [CD/2003] 8/10=Crushing Japanese death/thrash metal, grinding away with reckless abandon, at times sounding like a Japanese At the Gates! Good stuff.

INTO ANOTHER - Into Another [CD/1991] 7/10=Excellent for its time, a doomy, Sabbath-like metal album that strangely found its fanbase in the hardcore audience of that era, mainly because the frontman was from Underdog.
INTO ANOTHER - Ignaurus [CD/1993] 8/10=Some of the ballads are extremely sappy now, but this was an amazing alternative rock/metal album for its time.
INTO ANOTHER - Poison Fingers/To Be Free/Herbivore [CD/1995] 2/Two tracks not on any albums, one that is. This was support P.E.T.A. I believe and I think that is pretty fucking retarded, just like the lyrics.
INTO ANOTHER - Seemless [CD/1995] 9/10=May not hold up over long periods of time, but despite it's more commercial sound, it has such amazing hooks and atmosphere that it is clearly my favorite Into Another album.
INTO ANOTHER - T.A.I.L. [CD/1996] 4/10=The two non-album tracks on this single are both excellent and should have been on the fucking album.

IRON MAIDEN - Iron Maiden [CDx2/1980] 7/10=The birth of most of what we know as heavy metal today...so what else should I say?
IRON MAIDEN - Killers [CD/1981] 8/10=A stronger album, and the best with Paul Di'Anno on vocals.
IRON MAIDEN - The Number of the Beast [CD/1982] 10/10=Out with Di'Anno, in with Dickinson, and a major improvement. This album is the prototype for several metal genres to come.
IRON MAIDEN - Piece of Mind [CD/1983] 10/10=Some don't like this album as much, but I absolutely love it. A nice, dark tone here.
IRON MAIDEN - Powerslave [CD/1984] 10/10=Iron Maiden continues to churn out excellent quality releases...this is my second fave album after Somewhere in Time. The title track is a killer.
IRON MAIDEN - Live After Death [CD/1985] 5/10=Sure, it's one of the best metal live albums ever and a prototype for many live metal albums, but it's still buttrape.
IRON MAIDEN - Somewhere in Time [CD/1986] 10/10=My favorite Maiden record...with so many great melodies that just can't be beat. One of the best melodic metal albums ever recorded.
IRON MAIDEN - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son [CD/1988] 8/10=Starting to slide a little here, a lot of synths are used, and there are still some great songs.
IRON MAIDEN - No Prayer for the Dying [CD/1990] 6/10=One of the worst Maiden albums, but not without its moments like 'Bring Your Daughter to the Slaughter'.
IRON MAIDEN - Fear of the Dark [CD/1992] 7/10=Better than the last, and possibly the best of the Maiden albums in the 90s and beyond.
IRON MAIDEN - The X Factor [CD/1995] 5/10=Poor Blaze Bayley. Goes from singer in a kickass band like Wolfsbane to a replacement that just doesn't work. Still, the second half of the album here like 'Fortune and War' is pretty good.
IRON MAIDEN - Virtual XI [CD/1998] 2/10=A low point for Maiden, this is a boring fucking album and the vocals again just really don't work.
IRON MAIDEN - Brave New World [CD/2000] 7/10=A 'comeback' album that had to happen, Dickinson hath returned and there are some sweet songs on here like 'Wicker Man' which made me cry at their concert last year, but some real stinkers too.
IRON MAIDEN - Dance of Death [CD/2003] 4/10=This doesn't really suck, but it's motherfucking boring.
IRON MAIDEN - Death on the Road [CD/2005] 5/10=Two CDs of Iron Maiden playing live, WITHOUT Bruce opening his legendary mouth for anything aside from singing and the usual live performance claptrap!
IRON MAIDEN - Brighter than a Thousand Suns [CD/2006] 2/10=Let it be clear that I have no respect for Maiden, Bruce will preach the preach but when it comes down to it, crass commercialism. Single song EPs. Fuck you.
IRON MAIDEN - A Matter of Life and Death [CD/2006] 8/10=Despite the crass commercialism, they managed to release a great new album, better even than Brave New World, the production is a wee bit too clean though.

IRON SAVIOR - Iron Savior [CD/1997] 8/10=A very solid power metal album, and a great debut for this band...with members of Gamma Ray and Blind Guardian and a former roadie/producer for Helloween at the helm, you know what to expect.
IRON SAVIOR - Unification [CD/1999] 8/10=The production on this album is less direct but it still makes for an excellent power metal album, they continue in their power metal vein.
IRON SAVIOR - Interlude [CD/1999] 5/10=Some live tunes, some unreleased material, I am hard on the score of course but this is worthwhile for fans of Iron Savior.
IRON SAVIOR - Dark Assault [CD/2000] 7/10=Another solid album, but the band has started to lose me a little. They really don't have any new tricks up their sleeves.
IRON SAVIOR - Code Red [CD/2002] 7/10=By all means, another slab of sci-fi Judas Priest worship, indeed, but I don't know how much longer I can bear the same exact things over and over again. I've heard these all before...
IRON SAVIOR - Battering Ram [CD/2004] 6/10=I think my problem now is I'm just too bored to be objective with this band. They never improve, or evolve even slightly, I think they have actually gone down since the beginning.
IRON SAVIOR - Megatropolis [CD/2007] 8/10=Okay, so they improved. This is their tightest record since the first two, better overall than Battering Ram or Code Red. Still mildly samey, but not distractingly so. Great.

ISENGARD (NOR) - Vinterskugge [CD/1994] 7/10=This has a more raw feeling than the sophomore album, the production here is more like a Darkthrone record but with the different vocals. Pretty cool, not for everyone.
ISENGARD (NOR) - Hostmorke [CD/1995] 7/10=If you're interested in Norsk folk/doom, this was a pretty cool project involving Fenriz of Darkthrone, imagine some Celtic Frost, some Viking chants, and thinly produced atmospheric synth.

ISHII, KEN - Garden on the Palm [DVD89/1994] 7/10=The debut from one of my favorite electronic artists, not his best work but aptly displays his radius of abstract concepts looped into diverse beats.
ISHII, KEN - Innerelements [DVD89/1994] 9/10=Brilliant and abstract, there are some amazing tunes here like "Flurry" and "Pneuma".
ISHII, KEN - Green Times [DVD89/1995] 7/10=This features some tunes he recorded under various a.k.a's like Rising Sun and Yoga, the material is still pretty strong and sounds samiliar to his normal 'namesake' brand.
ISHII, KEN - Jelly Tones [DVD89/1995] 9/10=Chill, quirky, and visionary, this is yet another of Ken's timeless contributions to the format.
ISHII, KEN - Circular Motion/Overlap [DVD89/1996] 4/5=Cool remix EP, with some work by DJ Food, Red Snapper and Silver & Kash.
ISHII, KEN - Metal Blue America [DVD89/1997] 8/10=Funkier and busier than the previous albums, but still has that charismatic edge within the whole of his work, the unique touch. Great but not a favorite of mine.
ISHII, KEN - Game Over [DVD89/1998] 3/5=An EP with a few remixes, I've largely forgotten this, it's more of a ghetto/jungle style that I've grown out of.
ISHII, KEN - Sleeping Madness [DVD89/1999] 9/10=He survives on to create another of his best albums, here he survives even some mediocre collaborations from Talvin Singh and DJ Spooky. Great record.
ISHII, KEN - Flatspin [DVD89/2000] 10/10=A masterpiece, probably his best overall album, I couldn't forget tracks like "Iceblink", "Gap Accelerator" or "Infrangible".
ISHII, KEN - Future in Light [DVD89/2002] 10/10=This is another of my favorites, a beautiful album possessive of this melodic sheen which is almost unpredecented on his previous albums. 21st Century Ishii rules so far!
ISHII, KEN - Auburnia [DVD89/2003] 3/5=Vinyl EP rip, you get four versions of the tune including the album original.
ISHII, KEN - Sunriser [DVD89/2006] 9/10=On the whole, I might like it slightly less than the previous two full-lengths, but damn if it isn't amazing. "Organized Green" and "Beam Skywards" are but two of the reasons.
ISHII, KEN & ANDERSON NOISE - Vale Tudo [DVD89/2006] 3/5=Another vinyl rip 7" EP, it's got two tracks and it keeps the beat pumping although like many of his collaborations, it can't match his solo work.

ISOLE - Forevermore [DVD113/2005] 7/10=It's a little rough around the edges, but you can easily hear the roots of what is to come. A good debut.
ISOLE - Throne of Void [CD/2006] 7/10=Classy Swedish doom, sort of a mix of Candlemass and Solitude Aeternus with a somber vocalist cutting right through the mix. Promising band.
ISOLE - Bliss of Solitude [CD/2008] 9/10=This album crushes...excellent melodic doom with some haunting vocals...the production is fucking fantastic.

IVANHOE - Visions and Reality [DVD142/1992] 7/10=Enjoyable debut from this melodic prog metal band out of Germany, a few of the vocals are weak but others are quite good.
IVANHOE - Symbols of Time [DVD142/1994] 6/10=Probably the least interesting of their albums, but there are still moments where it shines. This is the most 'Rush-like' of their records.
IVANHOE - Polarized [CD/1997]
IVANHOE - Walk in Mindfields [DVD142/2005] 8/10=A newer, heavier Ivanhoe with much better vocals, pretty kickass in my opinion.
IVANHOE - Lifeline [DVD142/2008] 8/10=Pretty great power/prog metal from Germany, makes me want to track down their previous albums.
