The Ottawa River Iris Society was organized by a group of iris fanatics in 2002 after five years of procrastination.  It was granted affiliate status by the American Iris Society (AIS) in 2002, hopefully to be reinstated in 2009 after another five years of procrastination.  It currently has regional status by the Canadian Iris Society (CIS).
