Old GasPassers is a loose group of Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA's) that communicate via the internet. Being an Old GasPasser is less a matter of age, but more of a state of mind --- CRNA's that have "been there", want their profession to grow and respond to the external forces that are keeping them known as the "Best kept secret in healthcare." They have initiated many projects, coordinating donated anesthesia equipment shipments to smaller countries, sponsoring students, serving as advisors for new grads, additional public relations and public service projects throughout the country, from screening blood pressures at ballgames, to their latest project, commissioning the "The Field of Dreams" as it has become known... a "Crop Art Project" created by Mr. Stan Herd, a nationally known Environmental Artist. His latest creation "Sacred Trust" was presented January 20, 2001 in Topeka, KS, depicting a CRNA about to undertake the anesthetic care of a small child, one our greatest trusts. This date coincides with National Nurse Anesthetists Week. The Artwork occupies about 3 acres of pastureland, using natural materials for the different shadings. The links below will show the images progress from muddy field to a work of Art. |
