Community Service
This year, our chapter of FBLA will continue to be highly involved in
projects that will benefit our community. We are looking for
enthusiastic FBLA members to join in this committee to help others in
many rewarding ways. This year, we have planned many events, such as
visiting senior citizens in hospitals during the holidays and continuing
our participation in the March of Dimes program as well as several new
projects. Community Service is an integral part of our program of work
because we believe that an inherent sense of service is an important
quality to foster and develop in our future business leaders.
School Service
School
Service Our School Service committee has been organized to contribute to the
well being of the school. The committee’s goal is to find the most
effective means by which FBLA can assist the school and its
administration. Some ideas for the year include a mural, faculty
appreciation, as well as a bulletin board.
Social Because our chapter is so large, it's important to have a
committee that is in charge of bringing the members together. The
Social Committee will work with the other committees on activities that
will involve the members. Some goals we have this year for this
committee include joint-chapter projects, social events within our
chapter, and working to start a Middle Level chapter. If you are
looking to earn some extra points, then coming to a Social Committee
meeting is a good idea!
Fundraising
The fundraising committee consists of creating fun activities that will
simultaneously generate a profit for FBLA. Candy sales at the Old Bridge
Fair, Datamatch, Otis Spunkmeyer cookie sales are just a couple of
fundraisers that are planned for this school year. This committee
brainstorms unique ways of raising money while keeping it interesting
for the members and students of OBHS. Being part of this committee will
give you an opportunity to tune your leadership skills, and work on team
activities.
FBLA Week
FBLA Week will be starting the 2nd week of February. It’s a week filled
with activities celebrating and honoring FBLA. This committee’s
objectives are to create and organize these events. This is a very
special week, celebrated throughout the entire country.
Partnership with Business
This committee will focus extensively on incorporating our local
business community into the Future Business Leaders of America
organization. Our first major event will be an FBLA Career Night. We
will also be networking with professionals to get speakers during the
school day to speak to FBLA members as well as students in business
classes. If you are interested in helping with FBLA Career Night or
being involved with professionals in the business community, then you
should definitely be on the Partnership with Business committee.
