In olden days, when boys were brave,
And looking for a thrill;
I'll tell you of a tale that's true
So listen, if you will

There were three brothers from the bush,
All working hard and long;
Who wanted to have a holiday,
To help them keep fit and strong.

They fixed it so their holidays,
All fell due together;
And decided they would take a trip,
In the warmer summer weather.

Their father had a motor car,
A trusty Model T Ford,
And they thought they would borrow it,
For they all would fit on board.

The trip was planned most carefully,
They hoped to tour the west;
And for accomodation they thought,
That camping out was best.

The roads, back then, were all unpaved,
And full of holes and bumps;
And they all knew they'd have their share
Of bruises and of lumps.

The great day came, and off they went,
It really was a thrill;
They headed out towards the west,
On the road to Broken Hill.

The nights were cool, the days were hot,
The Model T went well;
But every hour or so they'd stop,
To give the car a spell.

One day, when they were way out west,
With temperatures climbing higher,
They were battling through the heat and dust,
When the Model T caught fire.

They knew they had to quell the fire,
But as there was a drought,
The little drinking water they had,
Wouldn't put it out.

A quick decision then was made,
And with a glance about,
To make sure they were quite alone,
They put the fire out.

"How did they do it?" you may ask,
These country boys so stout;
They peed upon the Model Ford,
To put the fire out!
