There once was a gnu called Sue,
Who used to say "How do you do";
And I'm sure that you'd say it too,
If you knew this gnu called Sue.

There once was a hen called Gwen,
Who just laid egg number ten;
But she said she didn't know when,
She'd be able to do it again.

There once was a hyena called Gina,
Who could not have been any leaner;
And could not have been any meaner,
But definitely could have been cleaner.

There once was a moose called Bruce,
Whose skin was terribly loose;
And he said to 'Old Mother Goose',
"I don't think it will be of much use".

There once was a panda called Amanda,
But no one could quite understand her;
She thought bamboo was much grander,
Than tea and cake on her verandah.

There once was a racoon called June,
Who chattered a lot at the moon;
Who wished she could sing a sweet tune,
Or eat all her food off a spoon.

There once was a bunny called Sunny,
Who everyone thought was quite funny;
And he didn't have any money,
But he loved to eat lots of honey.

There once was a wombat called Pat,
Who would run at the drop of a hat;
But she knew if she crossed the road that,
A passing car might knock her flat.

There once was a chimpanzee called Lee,
Who lived in a gigantic tree;
Who used to laugh with such glee,
As he threw things at you and at me.

There once was a snake called Jake,
Who used to swim in a lake;
Who used to quiver and quake,
And lived on biscuits and cake.

There once was an aardvark called Mark,
Who loved hunting ants in the park;
And he aways thought it a lark,
If he hunted them when it was dark.

There once was a lion called Brian,
Who thought everything was just fine;
Until he saw a big sign,
That said, "Please don't feed the lion!"
