Attitude/Behavior

The behavior of the members is the deciding factor for the enjoyment and success of this program! The following is a list of guidelines that members are expected to follow.

· Display a motivated and positive attitude at rehearsals
· Be respectful, polite and courteous to all members, staff, and parent helpers
· Communicate areas of concern with the staff
· Arrive to each rehearsal early so it may begin on time
· Wear proper rehearsal attire
· Attend all rehearsals and performances
· Learn all changes or new work before the next rehearsal if one is missed
· Follow all regulations, rules and requirements of the Owen J Roberts Marching Band
· Display Good Sportsmanship

Rehearsal Rules

1. Students must be in gym, with equipment, ready to practice at the predetermined time.
2. No food or drink on the floor. Eat before you arrive. (Water is an exception)
3. NO chewing gum.
4. Students must have all necessary equipment at every rehearsal.
5. To make rehearsal time productive there will be no unnecessary talking.  The instructors have the final say as to what is “necessary.”
6. Students must respect our facilities, and all colorguard equipment whether it belongs to the student, another student, or the high school.

Rehearsal Policy Consequences
The following consequences may be used:
verbal warning, extra work detail, silent rehearsal, etc.
Habitual offenses, or extreme offenses (fighting, insubordination, extreme crudeness or profanity):  meeting with parents and possible dismissal

Uniforms/Equipment

Uniforms are to be worn only at performances and specified activities.  They are to be worn and treated with respect. When not being worn, uniforms are to be stored properly to maintain its cleanliness and appearance.  Students are not to eat in uniform.  Students may wear a shirt over their uniform and place a towel on their lap if necessary.  Any equipment checked out to a color guard member is the student’s responsibility.  Lost or damaged equipment will be your financial responsibility.  Flag bags will be provided.  Students are to keep their equipment in the bag at all times (unless in use).  Members are expected to take their bag home each night from rehearsal.
