Toxicology Excellence for Risk Assessment (TERA) announces the initiation of a peer consultation process on risk assessment issues for trichloroethylene (TCE) at the request of the United States Air Force. The intent of TERA's process is to assist in the protection of the public's health from exposure to this chemical by providing an open and transparent discussion of key scientific issues. This discussion will occur during a scientific meeting, open to the public, conducted in the fall of 2003. The meeting will be structured in a way to encourage scientific interchange among interested stakeholders and issue experts. The process will allow all parties with an interest in TCE risk assessment to benefit from the proceedings by leveraging the meeting results for the development or refinement of other ongoing TCE risk assessment activities. TERA is currently planning the details of this process, which will be posted on our website as they become available. If you are interested in participating, please contact Dr. Andrew Maier.
