 Born August 21, 1805 in Baden, Germany. John Bartel Leist married Sophia KOLBIN [or KOLB] in Gotzingen, Baden, Germany on April 27, 1831 (Sophia was born Aug 21, 1810 in Zimmern, Germany). John immigrated from Baden to the United States with his wife and 7 children, entering the United States at New York in July 1847 and settling in Manitowoc County, Wisconsin Territory. John Bartel Leist became a U.S. citizen August 2, 1847 by filing his intention with the Brown Co. District Court, swearing his allegence to the U.S.A. and denouncing Leopold, Grand Duke of Baden, where he had been a subject. On Mar 1, 1850 John B. LEIST & John V. SUYDAM bought 40.35 acres of land in Manitowoc Co. WI (NWNW Sec.6; 19N; 24E) from Green Bay Land Office .

Fifteen applicants will today begin the two-day state medical examination, in the senate chamber of the state capitol. Dr. S. A. Cooney, secretary of the state board of medical examiners, announced last night. Of the number who are taking the examination, eight are regular applicants, and seven have taken the exams in other states.

CO., 100 Mont. 152 (1935): “Plaintiff instituted a proceeding before the Industrial Accident Board, seeking an award to compensate him for services rendered as a physician in treating an injured employee, who at the time of his injury was within the provisions of the Workmen's Compensation Act (Rev. Codes 1921, secs. 2816 et seq., as amended). The defendant corporation was the insurance carrier. Neither the employer nor the employee is a party to the proceeding.
