Phantasy Star begins when a courageous young man named Nero is found horribly beaten in the street. The Robotcops, the local security force, made Nero's mortality quite clear to him: There is to be no disparaging of the name Lassic ANYWHERE in Algol (the galaxy in which you reside). Nero cried out for his sister, Alis to come to his side. Without hesitation, Alis knelt beside Nero, listening carefully for his gasping words. He told her the truth about their king, Lassic, & how he must be stopped. He advised her to seek a man named Odin. Perhaps, he could aid her on this quest. Apparently, this Odin is a renowned warrior and his strength would protect Alis.

With that, Nero died. Alis, tears in her eyes, swore to avenge her fallen brother. She set out to find the man called Odin & the quest of Alis began.
