063 - Martin Co. formed 1774 from Halifax and Terrell
079 - Pitt Co. formed 1760 from Beaufort
017 - Caldwell Co. formed 1841 from Burke & Wilkes
020 - Caswell Co. formed 1777 from Orange.

From: The Handy Book For Genealogists - 7th edition (1981) states for NC:
"Virtually all records useful for genealogical research to about 1910 are now in the
North Carolina State Archives, 109 East Jones St., Raleigh, NC 27611." It is not
known if this is a current address.
