ARKANSAS CONFEDERATE SOLDIERS

All those Mansil's To: CRISP Researchers (Before CRISP-L) From: Ethel Taylor Date: Sun, 11 May 1997 10:30:09 -0800 Morning, ALL, Seems this family does have a bunch of Mansell's (spellings varied) I was looking thru some things and so far seems like at least 9 Mansels in the family. Mansil, b. 1764, (Bob's) Mansel, b. 1832, s/o William Bray Mansil, b. 1800 +/-, s/o Moses Mansil, b. 1800 +/-, s/o Prescott William Mansel, b. 1838, s/o William C. crisp William Mansel, JR, b. 1878, s/o William Mansel, s/o William C. William Mancil, b. 1877, s/o Ezekiel Cherry, s/o William C. William Mansil, 1788, s/o Mansil, 1764 Mansel Matthews, s/o Penina Crisp Matthews These are the ones I've found in the family. Then I checked the FTM FamFinder cd I have and under Mansel Crisp found Mansel........Family Pedigree #3 Mansel........1840-1849 census, south Mansell s/o?..Family Pedigree #3 Mansel........." " " Mansil......... S.S. Records Mansil.........1830-1839 census, great Lakes, South, Mid-Atlantic Mansil M.......Family Pedigree #3 Mansil Monroe.. """ "" Mansil Monroe "Dugie" " " " Mansil Roundtree.. " " " Mansil.........1790 Census Mansil Matthews..S.S. Records Mansel Walker Matthews Family Pedigree #3 I would like to add a 4th Possibility for "Mansel", to Bob's 3, just to stir the pot of mystery a little more. 4. Frances, wife #2, last name unknown, could be sister to wife #1, who was possibly a Mansel. It did happen during that era, and later, as in my other lines, I have the situation with some uncles. Wife #1 died, children very young, so uncle married younger sister of wife #1. Perhaps they were the daughters of the WIlliam Mansel, in close proximity of Old William. If indeed, Old william did marry sisters, then both lines of children could use the Mansil name. As I said, Just to add a bit more mystery. BTW, who does Penina Crisp belong to?
