Welcome to the Official CyberRanch of the
Northern Football Conference Champions
9 X Straight, Consecutive Final Playoff Title Championships 1993 - 2001

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!
HOOK 'EM! The 2000 NFC Championship was played in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada's Ivor Wynne Stadium at 4:00 P.M. on August 12, where the 7-1 Oakville Longhorns, who had previously destroyed the Sudbury Spartans 45-21 in their first playoff game, went head-to-head against the 5-3 Sault Ste. Marie Storm, who had recently squeaked by the North Bay Bulldogs 10-18 in semi-final play. The result was a 38-3 Burlington bombing of Soo squad, in front of 700 fans. Thus the Longhorns have defended their Northern Football Conference title a straight eighth consecutive year. The Longhorns then advanced to the 2000 CSFL Championship, which was played in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada's Winnipeg Municipal Stadium at 2:00 P.M. on October 8, where the Eastern Division champion Longhorns rammed horns with the Central Division champion Winnipeg Mustangs, who had previously squeaked by the Western Division champs Calgary Wolfpack 34-20 in semi-final play. That result was a 42-14 Oakville override of the 'Stang studs, in front of 1000 fans. So now the Longhorns have started a new legacy with their first Canadian Senior Football League crown ever in its history. 2001 will be their 9th NFC title run and the 'Horns will be successful so Oskee Wee Wee Oskee Waa Waa the Longhorn Way...

Premier Mike Harris welcomed the Oakville Longhorns to Queen's Park foyer. The Longhorns won the Canadian Senior Football Championship, and the CSFL Shrine Bowl Trophy, on October 8, 2000. This is the first national title ever won by Oakville and it is the first for an Ontario team in over 30 years. The team also won the Plaunte Memorial Trophy for the NFC Ontario Championship, and the Pestolis Sourezois Memorial Trophy as provincial League/Division Champions. Extremely Northern

The Oakville Longhorns Football Club has created their very own newswebsite on January 2001. Thought this will continue to be the first Oakville Longhorn website on the internet, the CyberRanch will now just be a gateway for the team rather than the official website for news and information as it was when it started in 1999. It has been a home for the Oakville Longhorns, Burlington Braves and Hamilton Steel City Ironmen even the Hamilton Tiger Cats three years ago and has expanded to include other Halton-Wentworth Canadian football teams, the rest of the Northern Football Conference, Canadian Senior Football League, Canadian Junior Football League, Canadian Football League and HWIAC and HSSAA baseball, basketball, hockey and track and field.

Extremely Ontario

The Ontario NFC and Canada CSFL champion Oakville Longhorns, winners of the 1986, 1988, 1990, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 NFC championship and winners of the 2000 CSFL championship. The Oakville Longhorns CyberRanch at http://www.oocities.org/oakvillelonghorns welcome the upcoming 2001 Canadian Senior Football Conference and Northern Football Conference championships and the 9th consecutive NFC plus back-to-back CSFL rings that will come with them. Those championships, along with other Hamilton and area football clubs, are added up in addition with game photos for the NFC-CSFL East Final Championship history at http://www.oocities.org/oakvillelonghorns/nfccsfleast2000champions.html, where we are asking all Longhorn fans and family to send in their photos because it's the Longhorn way to hold our tradition firm.

Extremely Northern

After all of these title, trophies and other triumphs, The Oakville Longhorns, who also call Burlington and Hamilton home, love to keep Ontario and Canada in the news. To show just that, the Longhorns have had many players selected to the Canadian Senior Football League All-Canadians list, 9 to be exact. This is a huge honour for the Longhorns, those making the team at either first or second string were: Quarterback: Mark Demerling, Wide Receiver: Gifford Rose, Tight End: Steve Moore, Offensive Lineman: Chris Nadon, Defensive Lineman: Joe Pereira, Linebacker: Wayne Sliwinski, Defensive Back: Jason Nunez, Punt Returner: Tom Wighton and Place Kicker: Dana Segin. The entire CSFL also includes Manitoba's Central Division and Alberta's Eastern Division. The NFC-CSFL East's All-Canadian selection list for 2000, also to be used for scouting purposes, was posted on newsgroups and our regional league copy can be clicked right here for the NFC-CSFL East All-Canadian regional division prospects list at http://www.oocities.org/oakvillelonghorns/nfccsfleast2000prospects.html. It is great to see a Longhorn leading in each category and in some cases, getting the bulk of the top 10 selections for the different position players. A good read for any scout looking at amateur senior Canadian football for prospective players. Following the Northern Football Conference's All-Ontario list, to which 8 made that list as either first or second string. They were: Quarterback: Mark Demerling, Wide Receiver: Steve Moore, Offensive Lineman: Chris Nadon, Defensive Lineman: Joe Pereira, Linebacker: Wayne Sliwinski, Defensive Back: Jason Nunez and Place Kicker: Dana Segin and Punter: Dana Segin. The list only including those players from the CSFL East or Northern Football Conference also allowed award winners to remain from the Herd: Leading Scorer/August Kangro Memorial: Dana Segin and from that NFC Championship Final Game against the Sault Ste. Marie Storm, NFC finalist, Most Valuable Players: Offence-Mark Demerling and Defence-Wayne Sliwinski. The Longhorns annual internal team meeting/awards night created the following leaders: Most Valuable Player Overall: Mark Demerling, Most Valuable Player Offence: Tom Wighton, Most Valuable Player Defence: Wayne Sliwinski, Mike Jackson Longhorn Way Award: Karl Kustor & Vince Rinella, Coaches Award: Steve Moore, Special Teams Player Of The Year: Dana Segin, Lineman of The Year: Jamie Owens, Rookie of the Year: Steve Cornelius, Unsung Hero Award: Howard Betty and Most Improved Player Award: Larry Baraniuk. That closed a very exclusive and successful Oakville Longhorn season and starts the drive for nine! So Oskee Wee Wee Oskee Waa Waa the Longhorn Way Si!
