NYPD Blue Fanfiction

Extended Final Scene for "Yo, Adrian"
By Vicki

This is my idea of what happened in the McDowell/Sipowicz apt. after Theo got his story read to him. There may be some need for gutter flotation devices---so be prepared. This is my first fanfic, I hope you enjoy it.

Andy: Come on squirt, I'll read you a story.

As Andy and Theo exit the living room, Andy throws a glance over his shoulder to see Connie sitting on the sofa. She is gathering her thoughts of the day.

Connie: (Thinking to herself) Oh, my God. What a day. What a roller coaster of a day. I woke up this morning, scared to death we would loose Michelle. This afternoon in court when Adrian came in willing to testify against her father. And now the day ending with a marriage proposal. (Out loud to herself): What a day!!!

Connie wonders into the kitchen, not sure why. As she stands with the frig door open, she absentmindedly reaches for a juice box. Her head is still swimming. Looking out the kitchen window, she forces herself to concentrate on the marriage proposal.

Connie: I thought I had all I ever wanted. I considered myself blessed just having this family. Now marriage. Is this too much too fast? Can someone be too happy? There's only one way to find out, go for it.

She takes a minute to relish this feeling of contentment. Andy walks into the kitchen. Connie is unaware he is there. He takes a moment to just look at her. The love he feels for her right now sends a shiver through his body. Not since Sylvia has he felt this blessed. He walks up behind her and places his hands on her shoulders. She jumps slightly. He turns her to face him and looks into her eyes---those soft green eyes.

Andy: I love you Connie McDowell. You are a true blessing in my life. From the time you took me out of that bar after Danny was found, I knew then you were my angle. I didn't let myself believe it right away. I couldn't. I was too afraid.

Connie: Andy.....

He puts his finger over her lips

Andy: Shhhhhh.....let me finish. Every time I reached out for somethin' good in my life---it was taken from me. And then you came into my life and I thought, not again. I won't let it happen. But you stayed, and I couldn't be happier.

He pulls her in to give her a hug.

Andy: When the Colahans came to contest the adoption, I thought I would have to leave. My past was comin' to bite me in the ass

Connie: and what a nice ass it is.....

Andy: Anyways......I thought I was askin' to much to have a family with the woman I love. I was being to greedy in askin' for this. I guess God is smilin' down at me right now.

He takes 1/2 a step back from her. He holds her soft gentle face in his strong hands, looking into her eyes........

Andy: Connie, will you marry me?

With a single tear falling down her face........

Connie: Yes, Andy I will marry you.

He kisses her tear away, then finds her soft lips and they kiss. A kiss to end all kisses.

Connie: I love you so much. You are a good man Andy Sipowicz. You are a good father, and a pretty good cop too..........when I am with you, I feel safe and loved. I want to spend the rest of my life with you.

Andy takes her hand and they walk to the bedroom. The soothing glow of the streetlight filtering through the blinds fills their bed. They kiss and as they do they begin to undress each other. They start slow..........but as they feel each others skin, it becomes more urgent. Finally, they stand naked to each other. Neither of them believing how blessed they are. Connie falls back on the bed. Andy falls with her. He brushes her hair back to see her eyes. He begins to kiss her cheek, then moves to her neck. Each kiss brings a quiver of excitement to her soul. He moves ever so slowly to her breast, lingers there for bit. Connie oh so enjoyed this. He was appreciative of how giving she was. Now on to her stomach. Each kiss feels like a bolt of lightening to her. Now back up the left side. His face within an inch of hers, he gently glides himself into her. Wave after wave, they ride the tide. They explode together, safe in the comfort of each other.

4 am

Michelle stirs in her crib, but neither one them has the strength to get up.

Andy: Shhhh.......maybe she'll fall back to sleep.

And sure enough another miracle for the day is granted. Connie rolls over to face Andy.

Andy: So, when do I get to make an honest woman out of you?

Connie: The sooner the better.

Andy: There'll be a lot of work to do, gettin' all the arrangements together.

Connie: I don't want anything big. I thought maybe here. Just the squad and some family. Truthfully, I just want the marriage thing.

Andy rolls onto his back. She slips her head into his neck and finds a resting place.

Andy: What's that all about, the "marriage thing"?

Connie: The "marriage thing" to me is the ride Andy. The ups and downs and in betweens. Us, the kids........everything.

Andy: That's unique, the "marriage thing". Is that a girl thing???

Connie: Just putting it simply.

Her hand is rubbing his chest. She now wonders down a bit..........down south.

Andy: Hey, hey, don't start something you can't finish.

She disappears under the covers. Andy's eyes widen a bit then relaxes. Kindness she returns in kind. She looms over him for one long moment before she falls to play, plunge and pillage.

They must have rested their whole lives for this one night.

6 am

This time there was no hoping Michelle would go back to sleep. It was time to start the day.

Andy: Hey, thanks for saying yes.

Connie: Hey, thanks for asking
