Pre-Match Events

-The FBI holds a bet on the winner of the Royal Rumble. Some guys bet on themselves, and people who aren?t in the Rumble place bets on guys like Goldberg and Angle. The FBI then says the house is going to bet it all on Benoit.

-Goldberg and Brock Lesnar have another confrontation, and Goldberg insults Lesnar. This time it ends with Brock knocking Goldberg down with the title belt.

The Royal Rumble

Chris Benoit's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. After a few moments, Test's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. Benoit attacks him with forearms to the back of the head as the bell rings, but Test pushes him off. Benoit regains his feet quickly and charges Test, pelting him with right hands. Test hits him with a back elbow and then whips him into the ropes. Benoit reverses and charges, sending Test down with a clothesline. Benoit tries to get Test over the top, but Test gives him an elbow. He kicks Benoit and gives him a gutwrench powerbomb. He signals that this is it for Benoit and picks him up, trying to get him over the top rope. Benoit kicks back at Test and scores with a couple before Test catches his foot. He pulls Benoit to the center of the ring on one foot, but Benoit gives him an enzugiri.

Matt Morgan's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. He immediately goes after Benoit, hitting him with right hands. He tries to get Benoit out of the ring, and Test comes over to help. Morgan suddenly turns on Test, hitting him with a right hand. Test knees him in the midsection and hits him with a right hand, backing him up against the ropes. Morgan turns it around and tries to get Test over the top. As Benoit bounces off the ropes toward them, Test kicks Morgan, forcing him to his knees. Benoit's clothesline sails over Morgan and nails Test, sending him over the top rope and to the floor. Morgan hits Benoit and whips him into the ropes. Benoit counters with an armwringer and pulls Morgan in, somersaulting him with a knee to the midsection. He goes for a German suplex, but Morgan elbows him in the head, sending him down.

Rob Van Dam's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. Morgan charges him with a clothesline, but RVD ducks and gives him some kicks to the knee. He sends Morgan down with a spinning back kick. RVD bounces off the ropes and hits Morgan with a cartwheel splash. Benoit attacks RVD and backs him into a corner, giving him some knife edge chops. He whips RVD to the opposite corner and charges, but RVD tips up and then does a backflip. However, Benoit turns and charges, sending RVD down with a running elbow. Morgan gets up and sends Benoit down with a clothesline.

The Big Show's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. He high fives fellow Team Lesnar member Morgan and they double team Benoit, who is up in the corner. They give him some kicks and punches, but RVD comes over and sweeps the legs of Morgan and then gives him a corkscrew legdrop. Big Show lifts RVD by the hair and gives him a headbutt. Benoit stomps Morgan and picks him up. He tries to whip him into the ropes, but Morgan reverses and pulls Benoit in for a kick to the midsection. He lifts Benoit for a powerslam, but Benoit slips off. Morgan turns around and gets kicked in the stomach. Benoit goes for a suplex, but instead drapes Morgan's midsection across the top rope. Morgan staggers on the apron, but before Benoit can follow up, Big Show hits him from behind with a forearm. He goes for a right hand, but Benoit ducks behind him and dropkicks him into Morgan, who falls to the floor. Benoit and RVD try to get Big Show over the top, but Big Show fights out of his predicament.

Billy Gunn's theme hits and he runs to the ring, sliding in and almost all the way across the ring to the opposite side. Benoit immediately charges and clotheslines Gunn over the top rope and to the floor. He helps RVD pelt Big Show in the center of the ring with chops and kicks. Benoit bounces off the ropes and RVD off the opposite side. Benoit dropkicks the back of Show's knee as RVD hits him with a spinning heel kick, sending him to the mat. RVD bounces off the ropes and nails him with Rolling Thunder. They get Show up and try to lift him over the top, but Show headbutts Benoit and forearms RVD across the back. He catches them both by the throat and gives them a double chokeslam.

The Hurricane's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring right after the double chokeslam. He lies in wait behind the Big Show, posing. When Big Show turns around, Hurricane catches him by the throat, but Big Show immediately goes to elbow him in the head. Hurricane ducks and stomps on the Big Show's foot. Show hops around in pain, and Hurricane dropkicks him. Show staggers against the ropes and looks like he's about to go over the top. Hurricane charges, but Big Show corrects himself and catches Hurricane by the throat. He asks Hurricane if he wants to fly, and lifts him for a military press slam. He goes to throw Hurricane out, but Hurricane rakes Big Show?s eyes. Show drops him, and Hurricane gives him a low blow. Show staggers forward into the ropes, and Benoit, RVD and Hurricane all lift him over the top and deposit him on the floor. Show is irate and storms back into the ring despite the referees' protests. He clotheslines RVD and catches Hurricane by the throat, chokeslamming him. He then chokeslams Benoit and then RVD. He finally leaves, still furious.

Scott Steiner's theme hits and he comes out to find three near-unconscious bodies. He stomps on Hurricane picks him up. He throws him over the top, but Hurricane hangs on and slides back in. Steiner tries to whip RVD into the ropes, but RVD reverses, and Hurricane hits Steiner with a jumping clothesline. RVD attacks the Hurricane while Benoit works over Steiner.

Rhyno's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. He immediately goes for Benoit, pounding him with right hands. He and Steiner whip Benoit into the ropes, but Benoit ducks a double clothesline and hits a flying double clothesline on the rebound. Benoit gives Rhyno a snap suplex, but Steiner attacks from behind. Rhyno sets up for the Gore and charges, but Benoit moves and he nails Steiner. Benoit hits Rhyno from behind with a running elbow. Seeing an opportunity, RVD hops to the top rope and hits Steiner with the Five Star Frog Splash. He and Benoit fight it out while the Hurricane takes on Rhyno.

Kane's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. Steiner is staggering up to his feet by the ropes, and Kane sends him out with a big boot. Hurricane hits the Overcast on Rhyno, but Kane grabs him by the hair and throws him over the top and to the floor. Meanwhile, RVD sends Benoit down with a jump kick. He dukes it out with Kane, who gets the better of him. He whips RVD into the ropes and lifts him into the air, but RVD counters with a dropkick. RVD jumps to the top rope to go for another jump kick, but Kane pushes him over, and RVD sails into the barricade. Rhyno goes for the Gore on Kane, but he moves and Rhyno crashes into the middle turnbuckle. He is clotheslined out by Kane moments later. Kane turns around and comes face to face with Benoit, who is not about to back off. They have staredown for a few moments, and then Benoit slaps Kane. Kane laughs at him and then tries a right hand. Benoit ducks under it and kicks Kane in the midsection. He hits him with some chops and backs him into a corner. Benoit hits him with furious chops and kicks and tries to lift Kane over. He almost gets him up, but Kane holds onto the ropes.

Rene Dupree's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. He goes over to help get Kane out, but Kane gives him a boot to the face. Kane gives Benoit a thrust to the throat and he finally releases him. Kane rams Benoit's head into the turnbuckles and then clotheslines Dupree. He grabs Benoit by the throat, but Dupree clips Kane's knee. Kane goes down, and Dupree kicks Benoit. He scoop slams Benoit and then hits the French Tickler. He goes for it again, but Kane is on the top turnbuckle and hits him with a flying clothesline. However, when Kane gets up he's sent back down with a dropkick to the knee from Benoit. Benoit uses the ropes to help himself up and Dupree charges, only to get backdropped over the top and to the floor.

The World's Greatest Tag Team's theme hits and Charlie Haas makes his way to the ring. Kane immediately goes after the fresh man, but Benoit helps Haas double team him. They whip him into the ropes and hit a double flapjack. Haas gets up before Benoit and turns on him, trying to force him over the top rope. He gets him over, but Benoit hangs in. Haas stomps on Benoit feverishly before Benoit slides back in. Kane goes for Haas, but Haas slides under Kane's legs and gets a waistlock. Kane kicks his foot back for a low blow, and Haas hits the mat. Kane continues his pursuit of Benoit's elimination, but Benoit fights back with some elbows.

Rikishi's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. He sends Haas down with some right hands. Kane comes over, but Rikishi gives him a thrust kick. He whips Kane into Haas in the corner and charges, hitting a reverse avalanche. Kane staggers out of the corner, but Haas falls into position for a Stinkface. Rikishi poses and then gives one to him. He walks out of the corner, but then flips upside down after a clothesline from Kane. Benoit goes after Haas, and Kane works over Rikishi.

Booker T's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. He immediately goes after Kane, hitting him with right hands. He tries whipping Kane into the ropes, but Kane reverses. Booker hits him with a flying forearm, but Kane is still up. Booker hits him with a bicycle kick off the ropes, but Kane is still up. Finally, Booker tries a leaping sidekick but Kane catches him and slams him to the mat. Kane goes through the ropes to the outside and drags the Spanish announcing table closer to the ring. He gets on the apron and Benoit, thinking Kane is over the top rope, tries to baseball slide his ankles. Kane dodges and Benoit slides from the ring. Kane grabs him by the hair and drags him up to the apron. He grabs him by the throat and chokeslams him through the Spanish announcing table.

The World's Greatest Tag Team's theme hits and Shelton Benjamin makes his way to the ring. He holds Rikishi's arms while Haas works him over with right hands. Meanwhile, Kane steps back into the ring over the top rope. As soon as he's back in, Booker nails him with a leaping sidekick, sending Kane backwards over the top rope and to the floor. Kane lands on his feet and tries to get back at Booker, but officials restrain him. He knocks an official down and decides to take his anger out on Benoit. He picks up Benoit's limp body and drops him across the ring apron. Then he grabs him by the throat and slams his back into the post. He finally leaves as the World's Greatest Tag Team try to get Booker out.

John Cena's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. He helps Booker by attacking Benjamin. Haas attacks Cena and they whip him into the ropes. They put their heads down, but Booker hits a double scissors kick and does the Spinaroonie. Cena attacks Rikishi, and whips him into the corner. Rikishi reverses and goes for a reverse avalanche, but Cena moves. Rikishi staggers out of the corner, and Cena forces him over the top rope and to the floor. Benoit is still unconscious on the floor.

Tajiri's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. Cena tries to clothesline him, but Tajiri ducks and gives him a thrust kick to the jaw. Haas and Benjamin hit Tajiri with some forearms and try to whip him into the ropes, but Tajiri hits his handspring elbow on both of them. Booker backs Tajiri into a corner and hits him with some chops, and Cena goes after Haas, but is immediately cut off by Benjamin.

The APA's theme hits and Bradshaw makes his way to the ring. He gives Booker a big boot, and then catches Tajiri with the Last Call. He bounces off the ropes and sends Haas and Benjamin down with a shoulderblock. He notices Cena getting up and goes for the Clothesline from Hell, but Haas and Benjamin trip him from outside. They get back in the ring and double team Bradshaw.

Ernest Miller's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring, nearly spending the entire time period dancing. The combatants randomly brawl while Benoit finally stirs on the outside.

Randy Orton's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. He goes after Booker, and whips him into the ropes, but Booker counters with a bicycle kick. However, Booker is stopped by a kick to the knee from Tajiri. Orton gets up near the ropes and Miller peppers him with left hands. He starts dancing and then tries a right hand, but Orton backdrops him out of the ring. Benoit finally gets up and crawls back into the ring. Tajiri brings him up in the corner and gives him some kicks. Benoit fights back with some chops and then whips Tajiri into the ropes, backdropping him. Benoit then charges over to Haas and Benjamin, who are working over Cena, and dumps them both out of the ring.

Spike Dudley's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. He goes after Cena, who's fighting it out with Benoit. Bradshaw hits the Clothesline from Hell on Booker, and poses. However, Tajiri spins him around and sprays the mist in his eyes. Bradshaw staggers around blind, and Orton dumps him over the top rope and to the floor. More random brawling.

Mark Henry's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. Cena, Benoit, Orton and Spike immediately gang up on him, but Henry holds onto the ropes and keeps his center low so they can't lift him. He beats Spike away, and Tajiri takes out Cena, so the effort falls apart. Tajiri has Cena in the corner and goes for the Tarantula, but Cena escapes and pushes Tajiri to the floor, eliminating him. Booker and Orton slug it out, while Benoit is slammed by Henry. Spike charges Henry, but is thrown over the top rope and to the floor. Orton attacks Benoit from behind and gets him over the top rope. He stomps him furiously, trying to eliminate him.

The FBI's theme hits and Nunzio makes his way to the ring. He makes a beeline for Orton and gets him off Benoit with some right hands. He sends him into the ropes and dropkicks him on the rebound. He goes over to Benoit and pulls him back into the ring. Benoit gets to his feet and shoves Nunzio away, but he begs off, saying that he's going to protect Benoit.

Chris Jericho's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. He ducks a clothesline from Henry and bounces off the ropes, nailing him with a flying forearm and knocking him back to the ropes. Jericho goes to get Henry out, and Benoit, Nunzio and Booker help, but Henry still manages to keep his feet. After a few moments, they give up on the attack. Henry goes after Jericho and gives him the World's Strongest Slam. He picks Jericho up and throws him out. However, Jericho skins the cat and gets back to his feet in the ring. Henry turns around and Jericho flips him off. Henry charges, but Jericho pulls the top rope down, sending Henry over the top and to the floor. Meanwhile, Booker has Benoit on the apron, and Nunzio attacks Booker, allowing Benoit to crawl back in. Booker gets Nunzio over the top rope, but Orton sneaks up from behind and dumps Booker out.

A-Train's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. He goes after Benoit, pounding him with forearms. He tries to get him over the top, but Nunzio jumps on his back, choking him. A-Train slams him down in the center of the ring and is then attacked by Cena.

Christian's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. Jericho asks him if he wants to fight, but Christian begs off and offers his hand. They slap hands and go to work on A-Train.

Matt Hardy's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. He goes after Cena, and hits him with the Side Effect. He goes to the second rope and tries a guillotine legdrop, but Cena moves. He bounces off the ropes as Hardy stumbles to his feet and hits the Throwback.

Kurt Angle's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. He goes after Orton, slipping behind him and nailing a German suplex. He poses, but is attacked by Matt Hardy. Matt decides to try a German suplex, but Angle escapes behind him and goes for three rolling Germans. Before he can hit the third, Benoit comes over and hits Angle from behind. He then waistlocks Angle and executes a German suplex, which in turn forces Angle to German suplex Hardy.

Rico's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. He goes after Cena, along with A-Train. However, when he tries to get A-Train to prance with him, A-Train decks him with a clothesline. He then picks Rico up and nails the Derailleur. He then kicks Christian and gives him the Train Wreck. Angle puts Rico in the Ankle Lock and makes him tap. Cena tries to get Benoit out, but once again Nunzio gets him away by hitting a swinging armbar DDT. He celebrates, and tells Benoit to slap hands with him. Benoit high fives him, but when Nunzio turns his back, Benoit grabs him and throws him over the top rope to the floor.

Goldberg's theme hits and he makes his way to the ring. He is immediately attacked by Christian and Jericho, who whip him into the ropes. Goldberg mows through them with a double clothesline, but is attacked by A-Train while posing. A-Train whips him into the corner and tries an avalanche, but Goldberg moves and then gives A-Train a belly-to-belly out of the ring. Rico goes for his spinning heel kick, but Goldberg ducks and catches him by the throat. He picks him up in a military press and throws him over the top rope and onto A-Train. Goldberg is attacked from behind by Angle, while Christian and Jericho double team Benoit. Christian holds Benoit and Jericho charges, but Benoit moves and Jericho nails Christian with a spinning heel kick. Jericho helps Christian up, but Christian is irate. Jericho manages to calm him down and they shake hands. Christian clotheslines Hardy and tells Jericho to give him a Lionsault. Jericho jumps to the second rope, but Christian charges and shoves Jericho over the top and to the floor. Jericho is livid and yells at Christian, who jabbers with Jericho for a minute. However, he turns around and gets clotheslined over the top and to the floor by Goldberg. Meanwhile, Matt Hardy gives Cena a low blow and then tosses him out for elimination. Goldberg gets Benoit over the top rope and has him hanging by a thread when Chuck Palumbo and Johnny Stamboli storm the ring. They get Goldberg off Benoit, but Goldberg fights back and nails both with hard rights. He gives Stamboli a thrust kick and then lifts Palumbo into a military press. He drops Palumbo with a powerslam and then whips Stamboli into the ropes, driving him down with a Spear. He poses as the FBI rolls out of the ring. Brock Lesnar comes out and Goldberg turns his attention to Brock. As Goldberg tells Brock to bring it on, Angle attacks from behind and dumps Goldberg out as Brock laughs.

The Final Four: Orton forms an alliance with Matt Hardy, and they attack Benoit and Angle. As Orton dukes it out with Angle, Hardy tries for another Side Effect on Benoit, but Benoit elbows him in the head. He gives him a back suplex and goes to the top rope. He hits a diving headbutt, and nearly knocks himself out. Meanwhile, Orton hits Angle with his neckbreaker. Orton comes over, but gets put in the Crippler Crossface. He taps out before Hardy manages to break it up. He takes Benoit to the ropes and tries to lift him out. He gets him over the top and stomps on him as he lays on the arpon. Orton comes over to help, but turns on Hardy and eliminates him. Orton then gets eliminated from behind by Angle, who leans out a little too far. Benoit catches Angle by his straps from the apron and pulls him out, eliminating him. The bell rings as Benoit rolls back in.
