Saturday 10 May 2003

The "Celtic Heartbeat" show featured an interview with my wife Suz and I, from when we went to the Radio Wales studios to meet Frank Hennessy! On Wednesday 7 May 2003, we went to meet Frank Hennessy, and had a few surprises. Frank came to the main entrance to meet us. He then took us to his studio; we watched in silence as he recorded a programme called "Celtic Hearts". As each CD was being played, he spoke to us. He then surprised us, he pushed two microphones in front of us. I looked at Suz, she looked at me. Were we going to be interviewed on this Celtic Hearts programme? Indeed we were. Frank asked us some more questions as he recorded. When he'd finished recording, he packed all the tapes in a box, and invited us to have lunch with him. This was another big surprise. We went with him into the Radio Wales restaurant. He got three trays for us, and we selected what food we wanted to eat. We sat down while he brought us tea.He was acting like a waiter on us. After lunch our visit ended. He came with us to the main entrance, and we had our photos taken with him. Frank is an ordinary run of the mill sort of chap, he made us feel very much at ease.I even told him what I sing to Suz when she wakes up in the mornings.
