New Membership
Division
People deserving to be a member of the Church are
required to attend a three-month class coined 'New
Membership' class. The classes are conducted on Sundays. Lessons including Bible Doctrine, Ordinances, Plan of Salvation, history of the local church and how to become a member of New Water in the Desert, amongst others are taught. This is done in order
not to allow people to become members of the assembly
unaware of the teaching and principles of the
church. Recruitment for class attendants is done amongst
people applying to be members of the church. They
must have visited the church for more than three
(3) months and demonstrate a genuine desire to
serve the Lord through our local church.
New Membership Division is also responsible to hold
an official Graduation Ceremony where those who
successfully complete the 3-month course are given Membership Certificates, Membership Cards and Financial Books. This entitles them also to membership of the Church Health Fund. More than 300 persons have graduated from this class since its inception
in 2002.
The division is headed by a Director who is
assisted by a 5-person Membership Committee responsible to
assist the pastor in handling issues related to new or renewal membership |
