Church Missions
NWIDA has a church Missions department that is
responsible to direct and supervise the mission
program of the church including outstations, special projects, etc. To date, CMD manages preaching points in six of the fifteen political
sub-divisions of our country. Some of these points are situated
in
Muslim-dominated areas and areas where there is no presence of the apostolic gospel. Pastors are assigned in those areas with their families.
Support for missions is one of the challenges
facing the church. At the moment, special fundraising
programs including a weekly missions offering help provide support to the cause of missions at NWIDA including the support of pastors. They are placed on a monthly salary of 1,000.00 which, is less than US$20.00 with 25 kg bag of rice. All of this is earnest contribution of church members. Presently, there are about ten (10) assigned missionaries pasturing churches in various locations in Liberia. There are great results from these preaching points. There are reports of people being filled with the Holy Ghost as the Spirit gives the utterance.
Services as some of those preaching points are held in
school auditorium and make-shift buildings. The
church is trying to rally support from our church
members and other friends to build viable
structures for the work of God. We hold annual retreat
for pastors around the country.
CMD is coordinating the newly launched 'Mobile
Missions' initiative intended to place immediate help
at the doorsteps of needy people through our outreach teams, medical, construction, counseling, prayer, evangelism, etc. Patients are treated, houses roofed, the hurting prayed for and counseled, amongst others.CMD works closely with the Church Youth
Fellowship and Church Evangelism department in
executing the 'Youth Missions Service' (YMS)
initiative places young people in rural Liberia on a short
term basis to share their faith with other people
through person to person evangelism, Bible studies,
revivals, crusades, etc, to win the lost at all
cost.
