Wellington and Barclay de Tolly land with 25,000 English, Russian and Swedish troops and march to Amsterdam. After a brief cannonade, the 5,000 Dutch defenders surrender. When word spreads to the 30,000 Dutch troops serving under French colors, mass desertions result.
