The major event going on my life is flirting with PHP. I am reading, writing, breathing php right now. Began with a set of php scripts to help in my administration work, it has evolved into a nice full featured monitoring website. Planning to write a PHP based basic MQ administration extension. Basically, it will inquire and monitor the queues and channels.

System Administrator by job now.  The last major event in my life is building a linux laptop (Redhat 9.0 on Dell Inspiron 8600).

Ardent supporter of Free Software as well as Open Source.  My desktop at work is a GNU/Linux box for the past 2 years.    Till now I was supporting monetary wise.  Now with my laptop planning to support with some code also.

I participate in HP Forums mainly on the hpux and linux sections.  I am a King right now by points.  Here is my profile.

I was fascinated by the buzz word Object Oriented....  Was working on Object Oriented Systems, I was very happy when the UML came out of the stable of OMG   successfully.  I also work on how to improve the process methodologies, both heavy weight processes like RUP, OPEN and light weight process like XP and now Agile Methods.   My favourite author is Martin Fowler because of his elegant style and flow. According to my view Patterns are the best to come out of this industry.  Yet another area I am exploring now is distributed objects and CORBA.

Remember this site is always under construction because it is continuously updated, yeah iterative

Work

Currently I am working on age old TP Monitors like Encina and Tuxedo helping moving applications and Troubleshooting DCE on HPUX, Solaris and Windows NT.  Apart from that my area of work includes MQSeries and Databases like Informix, Oracle and DB2.

Interests

Besides Object Oriented thinking very much interested in System Administration.  I had a linux desktop on which used to have more than 3 kernels at a time.  Fond of building new development kernels.  The sites I frequent most are slashdot, osnews and sourceforge.  I have and working on Operating Systems and Distributed Object Based Applications.   I started off my career as a C programmer with a lot of appetite for Object Oriented Programming in C++.  At that time Java was coming strong and well.  It is a good Object Oriented Programming language that satisfies the needs of the today business centric IT field.

I love to work under Linux and thanks to Linus Torvalds for giving his hobby under GPL to the geek community.   But without the genius of Richard Stallman, this would not have reached so many users/geeks.

Here is the list of books I own and some of my reviews about them.
