I made these myself for a school project!
  Serves the whole family
Quantity/Servings: 
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 package yeast
3/4 cup lukewarm milk
1 egg
2/3 cup raisens
1 tablespoon mixed candied fruit, chopped
1 tart apple, peeled, cored and minced
grated peel of 1/2 lemon
pinch of salt

1) soften yeast in milk - let stand until bubbles form
2) combine all ingredients, add yeast
3) let dough rise for 1 hour
4) shape into balls with 2 tablespoons dipped into oil and drop into hot oil (350) a few at a time
5) fry until puffed and golden brown - dry on brown paper
6) shake on powdered sugar - serve warm
