Although Celtic have won the european cup which rangers haven't, celtic cannot win the european cup winners cup which rangers have won as it is not around anymore. This means that Rangers will always be able to hold this over Celtic.

The russians fought back bravely with goals from Eschtrekov and Makhovikov which made for a very tense finish. The Rangers fans invaded the pitch on the final whistle and chased around the Spanish police who were hated in their country at that time. Rangers were banned from Europe for 2 years for this.
