Zeta Tau Alpha was founded October 15, 1898, by nine women at the State Female Normal School (now Longwood University) in Farmville, Virginia. Only 14-15 years of age, these young women desired permanence to their friendships and hoped to perpetuate their sisterhood long after college. Today we are the 3rd largest sorority nationwide. The purpose of Zeta Tau Alpha is to intensify friendship, promote happiness among its members, to perform such deeds, and to mould such opinions as will conduce to the building up of a purer and nobler womanhood in the world. Our journey in ZTA began as collegians, but the future of ZTA depends on us, its alumnae, continuing that wonderful journey. ZTA members learn early that Zeta is Forever. Not only do we as Zeta Tau Alphas share college experiences, but we continue as friends through families, careers, adventures, even retirement. The NOC alumnae chapter has programs including social events, parties, philanthropic projects and sisterhood events (check out our calendar of events) to continue this journey. The benefits of joining NOC of ZTA include making new friends in the Orange County area, networking opportunities, becoming involved in our numerous community service projects, assisting collegiate chapters around us, enhancing your leadership delvelopment, increasing ZTA's exposure in our community and continued involvement with the sisterhood that lasts a lifetime!!! We would love to have you join us!! Please contact our Vice President of Membership for more information. |
